i find this thing curious though
cicada 3M MC price - 2840
cicada X5 MC price - 3000
so a normal mech costs pretty much the same as premium... there s gotta be something wrong here
(possible fix make x5 more expensive
)
otherwise nice sale
I did the math once.
For hero mechs, its 75 MC per ton. Hence, the Boar's Head:
75 x 100 = 7,500 MC.
For normal mechs, it comes to 1 MC = 2,500 C-Bills. The CDA-3M costs roughly 7.1 million C-Bills, sooo....
7,100,000 / 2840 = 2,500 C-Bills on the nose.
PGI rounds up MC price, apparently. Its really so little its inconsequential though. Unless, you know, that two whole MC being spent extra rounding up to 2,840 for the 3M is absolutely killing you. GXP conversion-wise, you could earn more GXP playing one or two decent matches than you'd make spend to convert.
And I could absolutely confirm that Champion mechs go off the 2,500 C-Bill = 1 MC ratio by stripping down a regular varian and adding the same things to it as the Champion version, ie the BJ-1 and the BJ-1 ©, but I'm lazy, and quite frankly, just a cursory glance at the difference in pricing tells me that the 2,500CB/1MC ratio is what is being used, or at the very least a ratio very close to that.
So yeah, that is how mechs are priced for MC. If you notice, variants with XL engines are always carry a higher MC cost. For example, a Centurion-A has a STD 200 and is 1,480 MC. The Centurion-D comes with an XL 300, and is 3,625 MC. Granted, engines aren't the only factor, but the difference between a STD and an XL of the same size is anywhere from one million to four million C-Bills. Its why if I were to buy a regular mech with MC, it wouldn't be one carrying an XL engine, because upwards of ten USD extra solely because of the engine.
Edit: Well ****, you remember what I said about being lazy and not checking champions? Well, its half-way true. I stopped calculating it once I got a BJ-1 within three hundred MC of the BJ-1 (C) cost. So yeah, Champions are apparently valued on their equipment at the same ratio as normal mechs, 2,500 C-Bills to 1 MC.
