Asking them to remove a map is backwards... Those who have been around when there were only a few maps in rotation should never ask for maps to be removed. We should be glad we have the ones we have. Reworked, yes... removed... never. Mind you these smaller maps were in play when there were smaller number of players on the field. The idea that they can be expanded is justifiable, though I personally still find them playable (and while there isn't much strategy, there are more options than heading to upper portion of the map).

11 people - "Hey lets go right and cap!"
1 person - "Wait guys, i see them coming to our left flank...we should probably stay and defend base. Hey are you guys listening to m......"
11 people - "Oh, hey look what a ******* noob lol, he got killed because he didn't stay with the team.....Oh **** wait we're getting capped? what??? guys hurry lets base rush them and cap before they do!!!!"
The End
P.S. I am mostly always that 1 person.

It physically make my eyes burn.
It's the only map in all MWO.
I know it's selfish, and i assure there are no tactic/strategic/design/spawnpoint/cap location issues.
Probably is a mix of film grain, gradient, or God knows what else.
But i have to rest my eyes (away from the monitor) for about 3/5 minutes after that map.
And during all the matches i feel pain everytime i try to focus my eyes on the target.
Everytime i see the screen of "River City Map" my will to have fun and play MWO fade away instantly for a reason i never met before in almost 30 years of gaming.
As i said in another post, the worst side is i play with friends, and i don't like leaving them alone with a lame disconnection.
So i'm "forced" to play it.
I tried NightVision/thermal, (i have no issue in any other "night" maps of MWO) but incredibly it does not help much, expecially nightvision.
I hardly recall a game where i ecounter problems like that.
Maybe DAYZ, but there i have difficulties to see at all, with no pain-burns for my eyes.
I really dunno what to do...i hope that an option to remove film grain would help me if implemented.
Maybe i don't even want this map to be removed, but i need it heavily modified from a lighting perspective.
This issue is ten time bigger than lack of Faction wars, UI 2.0 or Clan stuff.

The map itself is fine, I just dont like the alternate vision modes thats all.
The worst map in my opinion is what I call the magma level. I just dont like that one at all, it's pure luck if you are not using a heat heavy mech at the time and it's no fun for slow mechs.
That wasn't the case, but people whined, so the vision modes got nerfed.

also, that green night vision doesnt look good in my opinion.
i dont like having diffuclty in seeing, its just not fun for me.
when i get the night map i just say "yay this map" and play through it, usually lose.
im hoping i wont see it as much when UI 2.0 finally comes out. i know i know, soonTM.

You can see mechs moving about without touching gamma or brightness because of ambient light and because most idiots skyline themselves against lighter backgrounds without thinking about it. I'll regularly pop shots off and hit people in the dark at 1k range because of this. "Derp, I'll just move slowly in front of this big light colored building." "Derp, I'll just stand up here where I know the enemy can see my outline against the bright sky." "Derp, I'll go stand next to the burning oil patches in the water."

This is a good post. I've seen a few players talk about vision issues. Now those people that do have what I would consider "legitimate" vision issues should contact support and leave some posts in the feedback sections. Those are real issues that should be addressed IMHO.

As long as it isn't the "vision issues" people had in DayZ when talking about First Person Perspective. "Headbob makes me sick." Um, that can be turned off. "The motion blur you get in first pe..." again optional and can be turned off or scaled down. "Well the Field of View..." already a slider in the new game for FoV. "Well, First person just makes me feel like I am disconnected from my character." Unlike a disembodied eye that float about you and lets you see over and around obstacles so you can ambush people easier? Yeah, I could see that making you feel like you are not your character... wait.. the opposite of that.
Basically in that game every "Vision" issue was something optional. So before they go complaining they might want to mess with settings and see if that changes night/thermal usability for them. Then go give feedback either way.

Tough, you're lucky you're not facing Urbanmechs on any Urban maps. Learn to negotiate the city maps. Crimson Straits at Night? Yeah, bring it on.
