As you play your first matches in MWO, a lot of things can mess your mind, making you scary something in your PC does not work.

Before trying to update graphic drivers, change your VGA or perform a complete format and OS reinstall, here are 10 tips to make you relax:

1) in MWO trees does not fall, acting like a ghost: it's not a graphical problem.

2) If you see cars and other objects looking graphically worse than a DX7 game, it's not your computer fail.

3) If your weapons or your mech do not interact with anything in the environment it's not due to some weird setting in the options. It's the way MWO actually is.

4) If you get disconnected during a match, there is no way to come back (MWo is not technically advanced as -LOL- World of Tank).

5) If you see texture flickering or bad texture update in the maps, it's not your PC fault. And your cockpit is not set in "low resolution" it's the way it is.

6) If your mech get stuck on every object on the ground (even a tiny staute) it's not your controller device fault.

7) If you do not hear some weapons hitting you, or you hear a noisy, boring static in your speakers, it's not your audio device fault.

8) If you see your weapons getting heat more than they should it's not a bug, it's called "ghost heat". You should dig your way inside the forum maze in order to know that it is, no way it will be explained ingame.

9) Do not throw your monitor in the garbage! MWo has a thik film grain that cannot be removed. It's not your monitor fault.

10) If all text in the game browser gone crazy, it's not a virus, do not scan your pc.

I hope from now on we all get less questions from newbies about this issues.

I know they can presume all of these should not be in a final release state of any game, but before Russ or someone else send them all on an island, i prefer to give them those advices hoping to make a good thing.!

Uhm, I've got a one year old gaming laptop with updated drivers, all normal maintenance programs and anti-virus functioning, etc.

I have some of these problems. I still get screen freezes at random as well.

So you are saying no newcomer has ever ask you one of the above?
I'm in sice 2 months and in my corp i witness one of those at least once...

Noone ever ask you how to riconnect into a battle?

You can call it a rant because my tone was a bit ironic.
But i did it to give the state of this game a less dramatic taste.

If you want to make yours you can change the tone, but all the above are facts newcomers should be warned in my opinion.

C'mon... I bet you can't stare looking at the parked cars design without smiling after a couple of seconds.

I'll not comment on the state of the game. I did that often enough.

Bugs are bugs and belong in the patch feedback section instead of new players help.
Features, missing (in your opinion or factual) or upcoming have their own sections as well.
Game art assets are a decision of the creators and, while debateable, are also not a new players help topic.

If players, new and old, have questions about those things you are free to answer them.

You know what they say about software (like all computer games are)? "A program running without errors is hopelessly outdated!"

I enjoy the game with all imperfections it has. Looking at the errors and percieved faults takes away from the joy of simply playing a game.

Based on your posting history, you care very little about helping new players out and you have a propensity towards whining, so... yeah. Odds are this post are to help new players out are very, very low. The tone alone gives it away.

Pfft, I have people to moderate for me. I stopped doing any real work a long time ago when I became management. I just delegate out the chump work now.
