Hint PGI: This is literally the biggest thing you should be working on right now. More than new mechs/maps anything. That and weight balancing, that is #1 and #2.

A giant amount of the player population won't make it through another year of PPC/AC20 warrioronline.

CW is more important imo, but each to their own. Wait for Word of Blake mech pack, or perhaps Dark Age mech pack. Maybe we will get an srm fix around then.

Ya I was hoping the projectile fix they spoke of in the patch notes was for SRMs. Havent played today yet so i dont know if ts any better. If its not I agree that it needs priority. Most weapons are atleast registering hits and fairl balanced SRMs are neither.

Weak.

No brawling for at least 9 months it seems.

If your expecting SRMs to go back to the one hit wonders close range blow a side torso then the timetable for a fix is never.

I don't have any issue with SRM other than the missiles not guiding when a Narc beacon is attached.

I come from a guild that is one of the largest (especially now) at around 700 players. We've probably had 2000 come through our doors since closed beta. Conservative estimate of 300 founders packages, probably 100-150 overlord packages.

And the general consensus is that they do not want clans, they want a working game. I'm pretty sure PGI will be lucky to crack 20 of the more expensive (not gold mech) packages with the way things are gamewise.

If we can somehow have an adopt-a-programmer program to work on the communities top concern, I'd pitch in money in an instant. No I don't want a clan mech (especially if you can't balance IS weapons).

Fix the game first..

I wonder why the Piranha game team would continue to chase after new avenues of revenue while ignoring basic gameplay fundamentals? Could it be that the players are leaving in droves and the whales are migrating to other game teams that give a damn about their work? Could it be that Piranha is desperately trying to cash in on the IP and name and they are not hiring the coders and lead game developer that could actually do the job?

Cheer up, new camo patterns are available today and SRM's are still scrap. I love playing AC, Laser and Streak Warrior Online.

Assuming (and that is a big assumption) they hold to their timetable this time. Their past track record has been disconcerting.

EDIT: And yes, I agree, srms are a huge priority in my opinion. They are too important of a weapon to not get some love.

Sigh. I was considering patching MWO up to date for the first time in many months. But going through the forums and recent patches...It does not sound like I should even bother.

As I previously discussed with my now pretty much disbanded clan, the only reason PGI is not bankrupt as of like 2 years ago is because of all the battletech fans that have been desperate for a MW game for a decade. If this was just some no franhcise game, or hell, one of the many other franchises besides battletech it would have already failed.

It is astounding that after all this time PGI is still failing so hard at basic game functionality and balance.

Back to other games again it would seem. If only hawken was not a robot skinned COD

No one is expecting that, we're expecting them to do damage every time they hit. They've basically never done this reliably - as you point out they only seemed to work when splash was broken because of the broken splash.

Right now they're like pulling a slot machine arm every time you fire them, will they do damage? Nobody knows!

Also, it's sort of sad that SRMs cannot be fixed concurrently with CW development for some reason. It could be a valid reason, but that would make it even more sad.

Very disappointing. I have several powerful, well balanced `mechs which are ruined by this. Yes, I do have my meta mechs available though. They got boring after a while. Same loadout, different chassis.

I just hope there is a game to shoot SRMs in by the time PGI gets around to fixing them.

We're still in 2013, Prezimonto, so late the year after next year would then be my guesstimate.

I figure at the current package pacing, Clans are out next summer, give them 6 months an new package will be out (or less). The next block of mechs typically means advancing to the next major timeline event.
