Something that has bothered me when playing is that you tend to know more about your enemy knows more about your forces then you do towards your own team. Right before the start of the match you can see your friendly ‘mechs and variants. Yet as friendly forces target enemies you find out not only what ‘mechs and variants the enemy has, but the weapons they mount as well.

Now I know PGI is working on making the ‘mech models to look like they are carrying the weapons that are mounted. The problem with what you see method is that you can’t always see the mounts do to the distance or you are behind friendly ‘mech.

So I ask, would it be nice/helpful to know what weapons friendly ‘mechs are carrying in addition to ‘mech and variant?

I'm pretty sure this was mentioned in an Ask The Devs thread. They're working on giving more info on friendlies, but I don't think it's a priority.

All they need to do is bind another key to "Target Ally," do the exact same **** they do for targeting enemies, and turn the boxes blue. The fact that they still refuse to do this is mindboggling.

Its a similar story with jettisoning ammo, ECM/BAP, weapon balancing...
Its the little things.

It requires too much effort. But, we'll get a new mechlab soon!

I agree!

Let's keep the pressure up to get this feature added to the game. It's a no-brainer that needs to happen.

You know what would be great?

The ability to target my friendly mechs on the field so that I know what they brought, so I can try and work with them instead of guess. Or even better, see how badly they are beat up / what they have left, etc.

With any luck PGI will do that Soon™

And this is yet another reason why puggie "commanders" should lay off the mech shuffeling. They can't know what weapons are mounted on the mechs they choose to mix into lances. The only criteria I see is some OCD need to put "samezies" together. After all all assault mechs serve the same role right?

No one ever builds assault mechs for strictly support functions right?

The players who formed a 4 man know what their mechs do and have a plan of action on how to use them.No one outside of their teamspeak channel will know their loadouts at the begining of a match.

Thank you. Nothing more useless than shifting pugs around and messing up teams. Dumbest feature ever in pug match. If the jerks would just be polite enough to ask first it would not be such a big deal but they don' t. Just like the 12year old commanders it never makes any difference and 9 times out of 10 leads to a loss.

There are a few topics about that, but in the "Feature Suggestion" forums, where they should be:

http://mwomercs.com/...riendly-option/
the newest one
or
http://mwomercs.com/...isplaying-heat/
(last one is a little bit older but have a poll. And i created it so i got to place it somewhere.)

YES. There definitely needs to be a way to outright target friendlies to get the same targeting information as anything else.

Agreed, but I'd rather see such a function built into the status page that the Tab key pulls up, rather than having to target every mech on the team.

What'd be really good if people could just announce their build in summary over team comms at the start of the game. Missile boat, light hunter, scout, brawler etc.

That would at least help the basic formation of loose groups of mechs of a similar role at the start of a game. Hopefully this will encourage people to stick together as similar mech roles and at least attempt some sort of basic co-ordination at least. Nothing worse than your LRM boat hanging around miles behind the front line because he doesn't know there aren't any mechs on his team to spot for them.

Such changes would come in a new lobby system which is being held off till UI 2.0. It's not necessarily hard since we can already access mech types in the ready period and a much better way of telling what our allies have over targeting allies and other such stuff. Either way, UI2.0 xP.

Thank you for providing some insightful feedback regarding this issue.

I have mentioned this several times in the past. It would be very nice to know what my allies are carrying so I could be better informed as to who to roll with when the team splits in two. It should have been implemented from the start, but PGI seems to be a bit on the incompetent side.

Sandpit is one of the professional trolls here. They exist only to support the current regime as gatekeepers on the forum. You will see him and his kind using every exploit on the field. Heroes in their own minds only.
