Ive always noticed some really odd builds in game and gone "WTF was that guy thinking? 2 medium lasters and a ppc on an atlas??? WHERE IS ALL HIS WEIGHT?"

And others where i go WHOOLYCRAP I DONT WANT TO GET NEAR HIM!!!?? HOW DID HE CRAM ALL THAT ON WITH NO XL?

I honestly dont think im building my mechs right. I Always build them with longevity in mind. max torso armor, lots of ammo, and decent speed...but there are other guys packing the same mechs but they go a hell of a lot faster, and run cooler...dafuq am I doing wrong? xD

Anyone want to share their pride and joys? I need some ideas so i can finally get some freaking 300 damage+ games >.> (am bad @ mechs...)

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...8e332b95aa2b343

My carrion feeder...this one is the only mech i have that has just gone on 4 and 5 kill killing sprees...it can alpha quite often, and catching people not paying attention within that things effective range is usually a two shot...

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...5c19ee73795ba91

The second-oldest mech in my garage. I made this one back when i first started before ppcs went though the various buffs/nerfs, and even before double heat sinks..lol...SOOO HAWWWT...Did so badly in it till doubles. The current config. BAP for annoying the **** out of raven 3L's. With the nerfs to ppcs recently i really cant land my shots anymore...the flight time is hard to judge. before the last nerf tho..WHEEEEE!!! xD

More fail builds pending...

You need to click "Save and share loadout" in Smurfy, then copy paste the bottom link. As they are at the moment they do not work :D

But yeah, I've seen some builds that have made me "lolwut". Like earlier, a Battlemaster with an ERPPC and an LBX10. That's it. The LBX only had 45 rounds of ammo too. The rest of the tonnage must have been taken up by heatsinks, I guess.

The Misery looks ok. The BAP isn't doing much, and personally I don't like SRM6, I would replace the BAP with AMS, degrade the SRM6 to an SRM4 and slot an extra heatsink.
Also if you find you're not getting shot in the back to often, you could allocate more armor to the front.

The 8Q is a big bundle of ineffective heat. All that long range weaponry ultimately falls short at minimal range. Personally I would recommend again loosing the BAP, Keep either a few ERPPCs or ERLLs, and swap out the rest for MLAS. The weight saved could remove the Endo Steel and maybe fit in more Heat sinks

This will actually run hotter, but that is always the case with the 8Q, just learn some trigger discipline, only use the meds in short range, and keep the PPCs for sniping, or if you're confident in a knock out punch.

I agree that your Misery build is quite good, and you should easily be able to do more than 300 damage in it. Do you have it elited? Makes quite a difference for Stalkers. I would only marginally change it to something like this:

The Awesome is simply a challenged chassis. It does worse than another chassis with the same loadout. I'd probably change your 8Q loadout to something like this:

The BAP I carry to annoy 3L pilots...I LOATHE that mech, so anything i can do to take away its I WIN Ecm I do...just about any mech i have that can carry bap has it, so when they rush in expecting the big slow awesome, atlas, or stalker to freak out once the sensors go poof they get a nasty surpise...most jocks dont expect a brawler or sniper to have bap mounted. The alternative was AMS, but I found that on the larger mechs (ESPECIALLY the awesome) I was absolute missile bait, and would be out of ammunition before the fight was half finished....Will definitly try the Eppc 5med build tho, Similar build works pretty good on my Jester and the ER's and Medium lasers cant be min-ranged.

Anyone got any good Missile boats?

lol, I love my yen lo , xl300 so she can explode lol but almost 107kph with speed tweek. lbx and 2mpl with ams. all amo is in case and armour is max. also runs beagle and is now only 5000xp from its master module slot.

battle usually goes one of two ways, I either run out of lbx amo or lose right arm before I can use it.

loads of fun gotta get in close to use it.

Misery build looks OK, but I'd put AC20 ammo down to 3 tons (it will be critted off before you fire 28 shells in 90% of games), drop the BAP and CASE and upgrade the medium laser in your core to an ER large, it'll give you some needed long range intimidation while you advance. Also upgrade to endosteel, you have the slots, why not? It'll let you stuff another heatsink or two in.

You could also dump the SRMs entirely and switch to 3 LL 2 ML AC20. I'd do something like this, it's pretty similar to how I run my Misery except a little slower and with two mediums instead of a fourth large

As for the Awesome, it's not a good chassis right now. You'd be better off getting a different Stalker variant or a Battlemaster and loading that build on it.

My guess is that someone was trying to use a rather large standard engine.

Though it could be worse. Never go full Charger.

As for the Awesome, it's not a good chassis right now. You'd be better off getting a different Stalker variant or a Battlemaster and loading that build on it.

Remember that BAP also decreases the time of gathering target information and increases the sensor range. If you don't have the modules that also gives them, I'd say 1,5 tons is cheap for 2 modules. It also counters ECM at close range and like OP said, it's great against lights harassing you.

As for the build itself, I would say drop the C.A.S.E and maybe put SRM ammo elsewhere. You use that 7 tons of AC/20 ammo really fast and it will be used from torsos before the legs. So, if your RT blows you probably will only have that SRM ammo there.

On the other hand, I would recommend you to drop that one ton of AC/20 ammo, but not from the torso but from the leg so you can fit your second SRM ammo there. I never need more than 4 tons of ammo for AC/20. You can also reconsider if you ever need 200 SRM ammo for a single SRM/6 (I never need).

I tried to do some changes: MISERY MODIFIED

I would go with this (although I don't even own a Misery). I removed unnecessary ammo (unnecessary for me) and added AMS and ARTEMIS. You can remove ARTEMIS and add some ammo or heatsinks if you feel SRM6 is fine.

Also, ALOT of editing for this post, so my apologies if it's a bit messy :)
