Hey Guys,
I'm back, and let me start off by saying. STOP TRYING TO CHANGE MY MIND. I know the DDC is the king of Missile defense, but I want the K, and only the K, okay?
So now that that's taken care of, I present my Newest Varaint, the 3.0!
Heat efficiency isn't the best, but i had to drop something.
ER larges provide more long Range firepower along with the LRM 20, optimized with Artemis, and the AC/20 is all the short range punch I'll need, (with the Large Lasers, of course!)

Please, more feedback!
thanks guys and sorry for the break i took while responding,
Reconius

That build is insanely hot. It also has a few other problems - low ammo count for the AC20, and an unnecessary investment in an LRM20+Art that the Atlas-K can't even use well because of its ten-tube missile launcher.

I highly recommend you try something similar to the one I posted earlier in this thread (it also mixes lasers, ballistic, and an LRM pack to operate in mid-range) or NRP's, or even Levi's. They're all better builds than yours (sorry, not trying to be mean, I just want you to enjoy your Atlas-K).

If you are deadset on using your current build, at least strip 8 armour out of each arm and maybe the head (the Atlas cockpit hitbox is just it's left eye, very rarely hit in real matches) and put it back into the legs. Everybody strips the Atlas' legs, and that's fine, but 45 points is getting into dicey territory. If the enemy even accidentally hits the leg with an AC20 or a pair of PPCs, they're gonna see it turn dark orange and know you've got glass knees.

Here is my current Atlas AS7-K

4xML on MB1, AC20 on MB2, 4xML chainfire on MB3 & LRM15+ARTEMIS on MB4

Three tons of AMS ammo is a bit much but I hate to run out.

LRM's are good for the long range then get in close for 40dmg with ML/AC20

I just can't believe it sometimes how little some people ignore the heat dissipation effectiveness. For me, the heat dissipation effectiveness (excuse the fancy word but its the only one I can think of that describes... nevermind) have to be at least above 40%, 50% if possible.
Something else is that I did like that PPC and AC20 build back there. Unique feeling you know.

Anyways, here's mine Atlas-K build: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...34db997c8e84df5

AS7-K

I've been using this build for about a day, seems to work well but I tend to have leftover LRM ammo most the time.

Just.. sooo much ammo in this mech arms seemed safest as side torso's generally go before the arms get wrecked

Since I posted in this thread, I picked up an AS7-K and have since mastered it. Tried a few builds but pretty quickly settled on this one:

STD350
2 PPCs
AC/20
2 MLs
17 DHS, Endo

Quite simply, this thing wrecks house. This build has all ranges covered. PPCs for mid/long range and AC/20+MLs for close range. If the enemy is between 90-270m, you can put a 40 pt alpha to a single location. I run 3 weapon groups: PPCs, AC/20, MLs.

Sure you could do this same loadout on some of the other Atlases, but the AS7-K isn't nearly the terd it's made out to be on the forums. I really enjoyed mastering this thing.

This sounds wicked. I started out my K after mastering BH, DDC and D with the exact same build you started this thread with. I liked it, but i'm going to try these revisions.
