Anyone else get this from time to time? I thought that this was maybe due to the fact that I play in 3D, which is not yet officially supported, but I've seen someone else posting this and I have doubt he plays in 3D.

So it's a known problem?

It doesn't bother me that much, 1 every 10 games and it can be fixed quite fast (but switching from 3D to desktop then 3D again is longer that you) and when you pilot a Light at 150+ Km/h it may be deadly. That just what happened. I was in a Locust, game start on Caustic Valley, I go full speed 169 Km/h over volcano to spot ennemy but screen froze, by the time I ALT-TAB and come back, I was right into ennemy and I heard the expoding sound.

The only time I've ever had that happen is when an overclock was too high.

If your graphics card is overclocked (whether manually by you or from the factory), I suggest a couple of things:

Make sure your graphics card's power management mode is set to Prefer Maximum Performance in the global settings of the Nvidia Control Panel. If you have an MW:O-specific profile, make sure it's also set to Prefer Maximum Performance.

If it's already set that way, or the problem continues with that setting enabled, then I suggest down-clocking your graphics card core speed a few MHz to see if that fixes it.

I get screen freezes that are unaffected by alt-tab. I think my graphic driver crashes or somesuch but no matter how many times I reinstall the drivers the issue creeps back.

Yeah, that's what was happening to me when I overclocked too high with my new graphics card -- the driver would crash and the game would freeze up. Hitting Alt-Tab right away would get me to the desktop (where it would say something about the driver stopping and recovering in the bottom-right corner) and then Alt-Tab again would get me back into the (now working) game.

I eventually found the right overclock, and it hasn't happened since.

My video card is not overclocked and is not hot when it happens.

I have had 2 different cards, both have done it. Out of the 5 RL friends i regularly play with, it has happened to 3 of them. Some of us have brand new rigs, others have cheap/old ones with no OC's. It seems a common problem that has persisted through most patches from open beta when i was playing, and none of us have found a solution yet.

I get it once in a while. I have found that if you run full screen window alt-tab will not fix it, but ctrl-alt-del and then esc will. You need a graphics mode switch to reset it or something.

I play full screen (not windowed) and ALT-TAB works every time.

Yes, I'm talking about the "full screen window" option that draws a borderless window instead of true fullscreen.

Having way too much of these, I've posted about it in another thread.

TL;DR: Only game that does this, alt-tabbing, repairing or reinstalling does nothing.
