Any of them work for it, but find out witch has the best twist movement and of arm movement in pitch. Best thou is try not to run cheese A/C40 Boomjager.

The 6-A has worse torso angle, so that's out. Th 6-A also has much larger arms due to missile boxes.

The Firebrand has slightly less torso turn but only by 10% and the c-bill boost makes it pretty lucrative if you can afford one.

The 6-DD and 6-S are identical except for hardpoint but both will run dual AC20s just fine. Note that the DD comes with an XL260 engine so if you want to keep that stock XL260, buy the DD.

Here's a sample build using that stock XL260 and with a pair of Mlas for backup http://mwo.smurfy-ne...813d70119b1309c The Mlas are not mandatory, some players prefer bringing more ammo or heatsinks instead. It's also pretty well-armoured and some players go for more of a glass cannon (less armor for more ammo, heatsinks, etc)

The A has a slightly wider profile due to the missile boxes, so maybe not the A.

JM6-A is bad for silhouette and for twist.
JM6-S is a good 'mech for other builds.
JM6-FB costs real money, but works well for the job.

Go with the JM6-DD. Same performance characteristics as the S, but fewer viable builds. Unless you want to do something silly with MGs or AC/2s.

... because it's better to run an AC/40 K2 Boomcat instead? ;)

Seriously though if you think it's cheese... learn to adapt.

Bring some ERLL and saw them in half beyond their functional range. Or a 6 ML Jenner to burn a hole in their rear side torsos and blow their XLs.

I can be annoying to fight a lance full of them but it really is a hot, short range, vulnerable-from-the-rear kind of build.

Do you hear that, OP? That sounds like a downpour? That is the sound of the tears you will cause as you blast them with AC/20s. Enjoy it.

By all means run a boonjagger. Power down close to base and ruin a capwarriors day. They are great for base defence

Oh, as an additional note:

If you chainfire them you will be much more heat-efficient. firing two at the same time (or less than .5 seconds apart) will incur a heat penalty.

sometimes it will be worth firing two together if you can make a killshot or otherwise cripple your target, but be wary of firing both when your heat is high. A powered-down AC40 Jager is a toothless wolf.

I know how to take them down. Just branch out from the easy mode. IMO

Our unit ran a 12 man of them once, just for stupidities sake. Surprisingly, it wasn't as effective as you'd imagine. We did some damage, but a lot got blown at long range before they could do anything. I think our 12 Spider run got more kills. But Spiders were extra dodgy at that point.

well all in all they are all about the same BUT i would say use the jm6-s because it has the most room for back up weapons because of 4 torso energy slots in torsos, all other jagers have 2 and the rest of the hard points are in the arms which run out of space due to ac20

get the DD first for the XL260, you'll need it for the ammo and speed. a slow boomjager is a dead boomjager

On the contrary, a standard engine boomjager is often the best boomjager. Esp. with the huge jager side torsos!
