Was wondering what you guys suggest for the HBK-4G, HBK-4P, and the HBK-4SP since I want to try something new. Also, what do you guys run on your Hunchies? Just curious is all

Some people can get good performance out of Hunchies. I was not one of them. (Though they rock in table top.)

For the 4G, I have run either 3 A/C2s or 2 A/C5s, with 3MLasers. You could also do well with the A/C20.
With Hunchbacks, just keep them fast as possible and hit and fade.

I cannot agree with that guide.... The HBK-4G is hands down my best and favorite Hunchback. STD250, DHS, ES, FF, 3xMLs, AC20 w/3t ammo, and near max armor. She's quick and deadly. You aren't a front line brawler though, hang back and engage targets already engaged with your heavies. That AC20 is a good knock out weapon for already damaged opponents.

Given that all your weapons are on one side it's almost worth taking an XL because once the hunch is gone you'll lack the firepower to be much of a threat.

Can any of those build only fit a Hunchback, or can you bring a 55 tonner instead?Aside from the 4P there is little you can't do just as well (and without a vulnerable hunch!) on a Shadowhawk.

To be fair, that build and strategy are in that guide. The only place where it falters is by dissing the G in favor of the H, which has a cumbersome layout imo and as much as people are all "But the smaller hunch makes it better," they're just just 6 or a half dozen, take your pick. The hunch on the H is just as easy to hit as it is on the G, so you still have to use that oh-so-sweet torso twist to protect it.
Outside that it's a pretty good guide for a new player interested in Hunchies.

the Can-Opener (HBK-4G)
I have been a regular terror in this guy. On paper it doesn't seem to have many advantages, but in actual practice, it wrecks. Almost all the HARDCorp jocks run this build now, simply because it's effective.
Why the MGs over a 3rd laser? TBH, because in heavy fighting the Hunchy has trouble keeping cool with 3 lasers and the AC. The MG give it some extra no heat, crit seeking ooomph at PBR. As for the second laser, some people might prefer it in the head, so if you lose the RT, you still have 2 weapons, and I can't argue with that. For me, it's a matter of simplicity. Lasers in arms means a single trigger for both, single fire arc. AC gets grouped with the MG on the primary, which allows constant fire up close, and let's face it, "wasting" 1-2 rounds of MG ammo at range is pretty laughable. And then the MGs end up alone on a 3rd trigger for when I am in high heat scenarios.
The advantage of the HBK-4G is it's ability to hit hard, while staying pretty cool, but also this:
Once you are unlocked you have ZERO degrees of blind spot. And even with a 215-220, you have plenty of torso rotational speed to snap a shot with the AC20, then snap your hunch back out of the line of fire.
This guys excels on maps like Terra Therma. When everyone else is in shutdown, especially in the lava channels, you just keep on maneuvering and firing. About the only thing I fear in this guy is BoomJagers and Victors. Almost anything else, you can either outgun, or outmaneuver, out last.

It really is not. Or I should say, it's superiority is situational, at best.
Why? Because it cannot afford the heat burden of all those lasers with any degree of heavy fighting. If they had been planted on the CT or LT, I could give it that, but honestly, I fear the 4H extra lasers, not at all. Even on cool maps you have to budget your heat, which makes a lot of that firepower largely a chimera.

I use a 4H now, but I'm thinking about rebuying a 4G just to kit it out with the MG/AC combo.

I'd agree with you on 5 medium lasers. Not with smalls though. Frankly - small lasers are largely underrated. On brawlers moving at 85kph+ they're pretty sweet. Not only are they the best damage to weight weapon in the game, but they're the best damage to heat of any energy weapon. Not to mention a shorter duration than medium & large lasers. (.75 seconds)
On bigger & slower mechs they kinda suck, but on fast brawlers - they're quite good.

An excerpt from the TR: 3025 is delightfully apt: "Too many Mechwarriors, however, consider the Hunchback a match for heavy 'Mechs, only to find that its armor just does not have the staying power for extended combat with the behemoth heavy models."
Stand and fight when you have to; otherwise, let your bigger teammates lead. Swoop in, aim for weak spots. The best part? If you're good leading shots, you will terrify light pilots and score a lot of single-handed kills.
