PGI, you guys need to moter. Some aspect of community warfare HAS to be released before the Star Citizen playable alpha hits or your game will fold. Then you will get to watch as Chris Roberts counts even more money that could have been yours

This. Just look at the fanbase this 81-page thread has gathered on the Star Citizen forums. https://forums.rober...nspire-here/p81

Heh, same 10-15 people posting over and over again. Then they come here and post over and over again.

It's moar credible than the same 1-1 person posting over and over again, then going over to the Star Citizen forums to post over and over again.

People who are happy with the game have no reason to post about how happy they are with the game. Forums are notorious for giving the appearance of a dissatisfied populace.

Self selecting crowd. But hey, I'll leave them their RSI thread, since they need a room to all gather around and commiserate about how bad PGI made them feel. I'm sure they think they are doing a huge favor to hundreds of thousands of rando's who may stumble across their thread and say "oh my, what a horrible game, thank goodness for this thread to save me from the horrible experience", but face it, nobody will read it other than them.

It's funny to watch though. I can't help but laugh at how personally they took business decisions. It's as if they believe PGI had a personal vendetta against each of them and did everything they could to ruin their lives. My favorite posts are the ones that compare it to domestic abuse or Stockholm Syndrome. Actually... not favorite. Saddest. These people actually believe they are the equivalent of battered spouses.

I've read this Star Citizen threat dozens of times on these forums and only now decided to google about it.

Holy hell. I loved Wing Commander and Freelancer. That 9 minute video gave me a nerdgasm.

Hey, that's how I felt a year and a half ago when I stumbled upon MWO.

Funny that...

After being burned a couple other times, I've learned to lower my expectations in regards to F2P games, that way it saves me disappointment and frees my time to mock bad posters.

I guess we're just more patient than you. Don't put your life on hold waiting for CW!

I like sticking with AAA titles to ensure I won't get burned by a bad game...ohwait.

I'm not yet "burned" by MWO - not like some other F2P (and P2P for that matter) games I could mention. I still hold on to a admittedly probably vain hope that PGI will magically start to deliver on all their promises.

Since it seems you missed the point of my post, that was exactly what I was trying to tell you, just with "SC" instead of "CW". Is there even anything playable in SC yet or is everyone still just *********** to dev videos, screenshots, and "previews"?

If you have a buggy, you can create your own obstacle course! Or even better, load it up in the Cryengine editor and fly the ships around!

You ever see my mashup of MWO and SC? The Dragon riding the Aurora? There are lots of things you can do!

So the answer is no.

The answer is quite clearly yes.

It's like giving a stick to a kid. Will you just look at it, or turn it into a +5 vorpal sword of troll smiting!

I just say you lack imagination.

Excellent analogy, but your description is hardly worthy of the relentless nerdgasm over the title without the qualifying soonTM

EDIT: Let me expand on that thought a bit. I've ALWAYS been a huge fan of Chris Roberts work, and I was actually VERY interested in it, but with the constant drumming of the neckbeards about it and how it's going to cure cancer and how he'll never lie to them like PGI has, it's actually soured me on the title.

Mostly because I know the forums over there are going to have the EXACT same names with the EXACT same nerdrage that they have over here. I'll pass.

It'll be interesting to see the RSI forums when 1) They don't deliver on all the stretch goals at launch (despite saying that they wouldn't be able to), and 2) When the person who spent $5k on an Idris corvette finds out it's hideously underpowered, gets blown up 10 minutes out of the gate, and has to wait 2 weeks for the LTI to refund it.

Could probably just save a lot of time and effort by grabbing the MWO thread over there, and cut & pasting "SC" for "MWO".

No, the premade recognizes that the donkey is necessary to success and acquires it, even though it's not standard equipment.
