PGI usually did always good with hero mechs, none is superior to cbill variants, often it's the opposite, but in general they have always been well balanced and there's no P2W, I have to credit them for that.

+1 to be fair to them, there is no hero mech so far that has a clear advantage over the C-Bill counterpart.

I hope that line is never crossed though as soon as this becomes P2W it becomes for me never pay again :)

I was really hoping on a Jenner hero mech!!!

But what is this??????? Fichtre, c'est une blague, non?

No JJ? Argh!
Only missiles? Well... If you run out of ammo, you can jump on the ennemies to hurt them. Well. No you can't. You don't have Jump Jets!

But i like your work, it's a great patch =)

It's just that i am frustrate with this hero...

Cheers

We have calls of the new Jenner being DOA and other calls of it being P2W, all within a few posts of one another. What in the world???

Is it third or fourth patch about nothing new in a row?

do you guys even understand what a Pay-to-Win jenner it's gonna be???

No.

However, you should totally sploit this relatively slow, jumpjetless light which is limited to missile hardpoints.

That will show us all.

Well ... overall it is a nice patch ...

However, I have to admit that I am disappointed in the "hero" Jenner. It offers little or nothing to recommend it.

- no jump jets - every other Jenner has these
- 20% SLOWER acceleration
- same maximum engine limitation
- only 4 hardpoints compared to 6 on the other regular variants and 5 on the one with 3 base module slots.
- only missile hard points.

The maximum potential alpha damage with 2 SRM6 and 2 SRM4 is fairly high but it takes significant tonnage for weapons and ammo and SRMs have limited control over where they hit.

Even 4 missile and 1 or 2 energy hard points would have been in line with the rest of the Jenner family without being OP (e.g. add a head energy hard point ...)

I currently own all the other Jenners (including Sarah's) since it is one of my favorite mechs ... but I don't think I will be buying this one.

No hit registration improvements. No mention of a fix for damage from the front applied to the back or vice verse. Nor, info on the fact that it doesn't alert you to having been hit half the time. Flamers giving everyone another reason not to turn up the graphic fidelity. Jenner Hero...how bad are they gonna ruin the Hunchback?

Hit box fixes and Map stuck fixes are excellent. Keep that stuff coming.

The Jenner Hero makes for a nice SSRM boat and would excel in light hunting roles.

Sounds like the tuning done on the Cent may finally kill the zombie...

I understand the lack of jjs, but then let it get 1 energy hardpoint in each arm.. poor Jenner hero.

Now, 4M 2E would have been awesome. Alas, now we have a miniature version of the A1 with that same problem: TAG isn't an option, and lock on missiles can be shut down with ECM (got BAP? Wait for that ECM light to keep darting in and out of 180m to keep breaking your missile lock), SRM's? lol.

Ah well, it is what it is. Still not as bad as the Pretty Baby, just not particularly good.

Yep, the thing must be scaled down by far, making it much smaller than it's now. As I said in another thread, hitboxes won't fix it. Either a size reduction or a total model rework is necessary imho.

Exactly. Won't happen, though.

Did you read the Dev update? It's coming, they're working on it now after pouring over all the current data. Wouldn't expect it before January though, more likely at least February.

Well, if you bought in to the Phoenix pack, yeah. If you didn't there was the Shadow Hawks last month. I was sorta hoping that we'd have gotten the HPG map since the December update claimed that it was ready for release.

Even without the jumpjets that mech is going to be absurdly powerful.

Quad Streaks is going to wreck other light mechs.

Thats why we have kintaros shadowhawks and other medium mechs to kill lights that hide in the blind spots of heavy and assault mechs.

It will be in line with the streakhawk and streaktaro... will be interesting how fast you'll get that thing with 4 streaks, 2 tons ammo and a bap...

John MatriX82
imagine that there are at least 2 or 3 these jenners running around in light lance with XL300 and BAP... and think what it is going to make with competitive gaming, when you don't have to sacrifice additional tonnage for light hunters such as SHD-2D2 and KTO-18.
That means that teams that don't have a few hero jenners won't be able to leave their base, because any other light lance would be destroyed by these jenners without any significant effort or skill.

The ears on other catapults do change with loadouts. It's actually kind of silly how it works, too.

I'm not sure if you misunderstood my point.

I'm just talking about how the VCR ears are overly ridiculous, but you know... the ballistic changes are more important after all.

Anyways, I'll just be seeing Jenners with 4 SSRM2 and probably 2 tons of ammo... not sure how fast it'll actually go, but it'll probably end up having a 280XL engine at best due to tonnage consumption for the SSRM launchers. Free Artemis boost would probably be in the cards as well.
