So far I can deal with the new spawn points though they seem to heavily favor premades more than before. Arty and airstrikes are not that bad to deal with but had a match where the other team must have used every module slot they had as it was non stop. I carry one on only one mech. Use it when warranted. Seems now its a part of regular play. Good or bad I dont know.

If it was war we could innovate and bring things to the fight. We cant so its more like an arranged prison yard fight.

If it were war, Most of the player base would be dead from shear stupidity! Artillery is working fine. Be aware of your surroundings, stay away from the colored smoke, Make money. I don't use Artillery, I do't fear Artillery, Bring all you want.

THIS
No time to prepare - and you don't know if the other guy has a makeshift knife - or chain or just his fists....oh and you don't know if you have to fight at the yard - or the laundry...

Well lucky this isn't war - and because it isn't war some DEV could start to change some colors.... i want the enemy mechs in violet rectangles. Oh and the smoke must to become pink - have problems with red :D
But why is there smoke at all?
However - did you read the post? In confined spaces in heavy brawl - you realize that some of the other guys is just dropping smoke at your position - and ignoring the blue guys?
Have seen it several times... artillery strike right into the middle of a fight - i really wish that Blue on Blue becomes costly

Pink is so last hour, gimme a nice bright Chartreuse.

And?

You forget that I was once nothing more than "property" so If Command thought my life was expendable in the grand scheme of victory... My life was forfeit. So you are seeing Just how much you mean to your fellow players. FYI Pre-Mades don't bomb their own. So as I said before, be happy its a game. :(

ok lets have seperate q's then please

all you wonderful fantastic superior uber leet players can have your premade q's

and us lowly loners can have our own fun in solo q.

sound fair.
Nope because you leet people need to stomp the unsuspecting otherwise it just isnt fun - otherwise we would have a separate q.

I play in both as PUG and PreMade so just STAHP! Its a team game played in teams where the better team wins. Every time. To me that sounds like it is working as intended. And I dropped for 2-3 Hours last night as a PUG and another 2 In a 4man. I did not see any change other than the guys I was with had a higher Elo than me! :D

I don't mind the arty strike, but on some of the maps the spawn points seem to be so close together that if you don't drop in a brawler specialist with a big engine it's curtains in the first 3 minutes. I know instant brawling is what 99.9% of MWO players want, but weirdly, I kinda liked the whole jockeying for position thing we had before the patch - even when it meant a cap race if both teams headed clockwise.

And the spawn position or the Mechs or the Lance composition don't have any impact?

However - this post wasn't about Spawn - it was about more and more RnG mechanics.
And i can't believe that the same guys that say - a cone of fire or a RnG shooting solution is bad - can accept that - or even think its a good thing
the effect of Artillery for example -> it can be devastating or it can be useless - and it doesn't matter what you do.

A fair artillery strike would use - proximity fuse and detonate 30m above ground and scatter cluster ammunition equally above the terrain. - an not RNG mechanic

the exposed lance spawn point would be always the heaviest or the fastest lance.

critticals are not determined by choosing a random number between 1 and 12 or 0 and 11 - but depending on were your shot hit the enemy mech.

If that RnG is gone - we have a fair match - with this RnG still in game - i don'T understand why we don't have a cone of fire

Lights are using more strikes because they keep getting handicapped.Last good light was the spider but people cried to much so they increased the hitbox size by 10%so they die easier.Really how do you exspect them to earn xp at the start?

Again, this has NOTHING to do with being leet/elite, veteran, regular or a n00b/new to the game. I complaint about gamedesign decisions the developers made, to make MWO more action orientated and things more random. No more, no less. If ppl like Blurry feel belittled because of my thread, I am sorry, this was not my intention.

To make things clear: I am the more the tactical guy, not the super hotshot pilot who jumps into every fight. But after the last gameplay changes, I feel forced to do so. I really like good brawls, but I love tactical matches when you outmaneuver the opponent the same. And I don't mean base rushes with this. I think of a good conquest match, when your troops take cap points and move along, forcing the enemy to do what I wish. Now it's more like three seperate fights in the first couple of minutes and then things are starting to get wild.

Nope. I have seen my Lance and Company killed by every conceivable combination of Mechs. It does not matter, The better team wins, Even if they are better cause they spent the cash to have an Assault force, or trained their ash off to be a whirling wolf pack of Jenners. The BEST team wins. And slowly the better team is becoming the opposition when I am dropping, as my win percentage is being chipped away(dropped to 59%). :D

War is hell.

I like all of the new things brought by the last patch. Mobility is even more important, lance communication is more important, base defense (in assault) is more important.

Adapt and overcome.

This would also cause tons of QQ cause there would be many many more head caps as the blasts would be directed downward. I agree Arty SHOULD work like this. But then again I am not afraid to die in a game! :D

Well well, it is always quit interesting how different people think of changes.

About Ari, I have totally to agree with Storyteller, it is way too much. Improvement was needed but like quit often it went too far.
The spawn point changes are strange, on Alpine it is stupid same for the Cap Points, such a big map and more than half of it is not in use any more. Tourmaline is more or less the same.
For pug game it is acceptable, for a 12 premate match, absolutely not!! This way the game is losing the tactical element, and for just a shooter the features offered are too poor (game mods and so on), there are much better games.

About this I'm VERRY disappointed, because until know I didn’t get the impression that it was the intention to develop just another shooter, quit the opposite I thought, maybe I’m wrong and I have to reconsider to invest time and money.

Just my point of view

Actually Tourmaline seems the most different to me. There are spawn points that if I drop in a slow support heavy or assault, I've barely even started moving before there's an enemy Atlas up in my face and a Highlander jumping around behind him like a kid at Christmas.
I normally prefer quick mechs, but even so it seems like (for me at least) dropping in a Stalker is something to do if I'm only interested in spectating.

There isn't a single blast - just hundreds of sub ammunition that hit all the mechs in the area - the concentration wouldn't be enough to hit a enemy more as two or three times into the head. But it can strip lots of armor from components.

At least artillery strikes need to work different - i know that there was a Artillery Mod for the old Operation Flashpoint - that thing was awesome. And it need much more work for the spotter to make the shells hit
(Angle, ammunition type ... you heard the rumble of the 155mm guns that were somewhere on the map - and you heard and could see the shells incomming.... like in real live .... the only difference - there wasn't any force feedback - only thing i did was to set my speakers to max - and try to feel the bass of the explosions.

However in BattleTech artillery wasn't much usefull at all - because the Queen of Battlefields shouldn't outmatch the King

I had a spawn point on River City that was on the West side of the map half way between the normal and Upper City. It actually seemed as though the Lights that went to to normal Base site was confused as to where the base was. :(

Have you played Chess in the last few Decades? Thought the King is the most important piece it is weak compared to everything else! :D
