since the last patch with distance spawn teammates;

i have never seen so much hatred between fellow players. displayed in chat
accusing one another for loosing, not coordinating etc...
but the language is so harsh, that even my friends kids are no longer allowed to play this game..

PS PGI, parents buy hero mechs for their children too..!

And what would you suggest PGI do about this?

I love, yet hate (undecided so far) the new spawn points. I like the space, but I don't like how some of them force certain lances to pursue certain paths...

see this is the thing I like the most about the new spawn points.

It allows those with nicely balanced lances to get right into the action, OR double back and coordinate.

It becomes a tactical option. Do you move ahead and press the advantage? Or do you double back, regroup in the middle and press up the line? Or do you rush in and try and catch a Lance attempting to re-group with its center force?

If anything it creates a bit more tactical play in the seance that its now an option that you try and push an advantage, or concede your lane and double back around to force your way up.

The death ball on deathball action gets dull after a bit, this at least makes things interesting in the opening game before the main forces ball up.

One thing I am curious about, what are people's feelings now of being rearranged (Unless you are in a pre-made) to better balance the LANCES?

It seems more important then ever to make sure that your lance pairings are effective for those opening rounds of the game.

I don't know, maybe give the ability to ignore abrasive players on the in-game chat, there were players that have been asking for this since closed beta.

the reason for this post was not to suggest alternatives, it was to bring to the attention of PGI the current negative and vile atmosphere currently seen in the game chat, match after match...

As for suggestions:
  • if you are going to call a mode : "TEAM" assault/ conquest, then keep the team together
  • if you want single player behaviour, then have a single player: "King of the hill" mode...
  • checking weapons fire would cause friendly fire, so yes, space them out, but still within the same area.
  • Yes, changing spawn locations on the map is a nice change due to limited map rotation.
And keep it mind, we have a "Skirmish" mode "coming soon"...

I could see this as a possibility. Probably would have to be a social tab option outside of a match...

I'm mostly just saying that some people probably need to calm down a bit (just like how they needed to with the "ready" button), and some people probably should be ignored for their more vulgar "expressions". If anything, I think a censored chat similar to the forum censors might be a more effective option. Might be faster to implement (already made here) and might be an overall easier way to deal with the problem.

I don't see why PGI can't implement a word filter that can be turned on and off via a check box in the options menu. As for other players: Do your best to stay in the G to PG range. If you are in a 4 man drop then use the U key and lance chat all you want.

Well as parents or older siblings we have to decide whether the game is "safe" or not for the younger pilots.

I troll in-drop but I don't swear... Well I did once and I regret it.

Totally agreed. Either a chat box filter or an option to turn chat off completely would be most welcome for this very reason.

I totally called this. The game is becoming more like lol.

The longer waits between actual gameplay, the increased reliance upon randoms (when pugging) for a decent outcome (in this case, not necessarily a win, but at least not getting roflstomped before you can earn a decent amount of sweet, precious c-bills).

Higher stakes (time + virtual money) = frayed nerves.

Yes indeed, i dont like my brother playing sometimes because of the language used, even if he doesent mind I do.

I troll a lot, 10 months ago i was one of the top memers and forum trolls, but i still dont like cussing, unless im swearing at myself for stupid piloting :)

the in game texting needs both a filter and an off switch, some people out there fail to check themselves.

I am guilty of trolling, especially after a few beers or yummy yummy tequila and limes on ice :)

not guilty of ingame abuse though I can't respect that.

Censorship is allways a bad thing! In Chat, in the Forum, elsewhere, it just leads to a self-censorship and nothing could be more dangerous for freedom as this!

My parents teach me not to use offensive or explicit language as i do with my daughter now. Educate them with the right inner values, so that they can distinguish between right or wrong, its more important.

At least i understand your point but i think censorship is allways the wrong way to handle this.

it's good that you can do that, I can also.

Unfortunately many cannot which is the problem. if they are unable then a system must be put in place to assist them with their weaknesses.

Fake problem.
MWO players are so bound to do the same thing over and over again in the last 15 months that everything "new" mess their minds and creates frictions.

30 days from now, and the situation will become "normal" again.

na it's a real problem, I don't have children I am the child.

and even I can see why these guys don't like it.

they want to engage in some midweek or weekend play and there is family about ( perhaps curious whats keeping dad busy for a few hours ) imagin the surprise lol.

and it's not just that, how about cultural difference ? maybe people from more modest cultures like big robots too, and nothing about 50t robots climbing hills shooting lasers and ballistics is against moral code ( such a shame about that text in the top left corner because now they can't play )

just saying.
