I love the atlas. i'm not the best but i sure am damn good. But i know other mechs are "designed" to brawl but it seems like they break every time. The phoenix mechs are like soup in a can and im the can opener. the only thing that can reallly take me down team or another atlas. BUT i can only do this with my atlas. i cant seem to find any other mechs that can kick *** like the atlas. I want to try other builds for other mechs that can brawl. and after i try some other builds i just get bored and hop in my atlas. any ideas that can help me

Brawling is just difficult right now with the SRM hit reg issues.

Orions can make a nice mini atlas brawler build.

Anything can me made to brawl if you keep in mind that it isn't an Atlas. I like the Orion. You can make what is essentially a mini Atlas out of it. Just need to realize that discretion is sometimes the better part of valor, or in other words, run away. It has good speed.....use it.

Centurions and Shadowhawks make great agile brawlers. As long as you keep moving, you can stay in the fray and deal out quite a bit of hurt. My favorite brawly shadowhawk is a 2d2 with 4 streak2s and a LB10x.

Toe to toe I'd put a good Battlemaster pilot up against an Atlas most days.

I'd 1v1 an Atlas in my Victor any day. (he has to have friends in order for it to be chancy)

Problem with brawling right now is that no one wants to brawl with you. Everyone is too busy hiding behind that hill with dual PPCs and an autocannon of some kind.

(It's not the weapon loadout that irritates me lately; it's that everyone is using the same copy-paste build.)

Well, there are a finite number of configurations, and even fewer that produce results. I've been using 2 AC5 & 2 LL for about a year now, but it just so happens to be strong in the meta at this point.

I try very hard to force a brawl because I really hate the sit and snipe game. It just bores me. Gets me into trouble sometimes, but trouble is better than boredom.

Right now, I put the current meta in the same category as AWP-camping in counterstrike. I have zero interest in peek-a-boo mechwarrior, so yeah. I'm right there with you, charging over the hill when I should be sitting a klick back and taking potshots with everyone else.

Stalkers can brawl like a boss. And they are easy to spread the damage around all torsos.

Victors can brawl and spread damage everywhere, whch makes them very surviveable even with an XL. Orions like others have said are mini atlas and whats nice about that is you dont get focus fired nearly as often.

^This. I'd take a Victor into a brawl against an Atlas any day. Hint: Use your jump jets a LOT.

I mainly used Atlases with a couple of thousand plus drops in them. Now they just sit getting covered in dust while I use my Victors to brawl.

Brawling is practically dead. DPS builds are even tough to run but are at least more effective since the MG buff.

It is a sad state when you see Atlas lumbering around with ERPPCs and ac5s.
