Is there any rhyme or reason behind the lance you get put in at the drop of the game ?
I seem to get dropped in Charlie lance a lot in my pug account and in my founders account I get dropped in alpha normally in the top position . . . is it to do with the amount of time played, accredited cbills ... ?
Any one know?

Rumor has it, it's based off of your ELO. Alpha is the highest ELO'ers in the group and Charilie is the lowest.

Your premium account, IIRC, also has something to do with where you're placed, though I have spent almost all of my time in Alpha Lance, anyway. A premium account Lone Wolf will get you placed above a High ELO non-account Lone Wolf.
Finally, above that, are groups. I've noticed any groups I've been a part of, as long as there was no other group, and other groups when I've been Lone Wolf'ing it, have been placed in Alpha. The few times I've been placed in Charlie was when there were two Lances of the same group.
Now, is there any ACTUAL rhyme or reason, I don't know. My account name doesn't answer why I would be almost exclusively in Alpha, and I've been placed in Bravo and Charlie even with my premium time activated, so I don't honestly know.

Its just based on who was matched first (individuals or groups), which is no indication of high or low Elo, just that you were in the bucket first for starting a new bucket rather than being placed in an existing bucket.

Are you sure, Capper? I always seem to have a not-great ping, and I'm sure I can't press the button before everyone else to put me in Alpha ALL the time. It's just strange. I wouldn't mind having an answer from the devs or mods on this.

I think it is like capper says because I saw same people above and below me. If you are in group you are most likely to end up in alpha and beta. I can count on my hand how many times I ended in chrlie lance when I'm in 4 group because that means all three lances are groups. But as you say its hard to be sure about these things it would be best to get answer form devs.

I agree it's by group size. First 4's, then 3's and 2's then singles. If your in a group of 3 and alpha lance, then there are no groups of 4 with you. If you happen to know your competition, this can be witnessed on the opposition scoreboard and the end of match also.
