I FIGURED IT OUT GUYS!! The reason it's taking PGI so long is because Canada hasn't caught up to us yet. They are a decade behind. I mean why else would this ***** post these ridiculous references?

Don't worry, our Govt here is doing its best to "catch up" to you

After reading a review a few player at work put on the intranet forum, I feel for those who feel disillusioned and somewhat **** probed by some alien, it is understandable for those who have (invested isnt the correct word).... paid, a small fee to enjoy the game a lot more than some, with its perks and promises of a pot of gold under a rainbow, and then PGI once again postpones (maybe to never to ever give you what they promised like ENIX, EA, BLIZZARD, etc). MuhMHahahhaha - I too have spent roughly $ 200. But bitching about it aggressively to their face will only make them turn their backs on you.

If anyone at my work approached or remark like some of these children / spoilt bratts. They would either be ignored, told to reaproach respectively, or punched in the eye.

It has only been a year. I remember testing a run down beta version of Diablo III 3 years before it came out. And it was promised much sooner... and that promise didnt hit near 2 years nor 4. Most business' dont even last a year in the initial period.
So far had a 2 year stint on GW2, and the boredom with putting money into that and buying useless {Scrap} and not having endgame was unbearable. EVE is great but I wanted more combat per say, and going at small groups of people it is so easy to get overwhelmed and lose everything there.

Now Battletech / Mechwarrior is not just a game, there is history, books, art, tabletop, designs for excellent models, tactics, it goes on and on. Yes, PGI is saying the same thing what they had mentioned months ago. But at least they arent fighting a law suit again like FASA did. Although I wouldnt be surprised with Disney now that they purchased STAR WARS, that a law suit might appear regards drop ships and what not...

Final qualm is this, if by June PGI doesnt really do anything other than launch more promotions, new colours, camo, variants, or new mech/map or two. Then I will join you on the *****, but till then be patient. Suck it up and pilot a mech!

As for those trolls who just like a rant, and blame the world because they live a miserable life - you seriously need to expell your stress by other means. Like - taking out a whole team by yourself if you think you seriously mastered MWO!

Relax, they're only collecting metadata. It only becomes "real" data when they look at it, like some sort of NSA wave function collapse.

If you kept missing deadline after deadline of your own making, would you still have a job?

Yes, if I could convince my boss that I had good reasons for it. Or if I could show him that if he's patient, the moneyhats I'm currently printing will increase by a huge factor. Maybe my boss has a gold plated Tesla he's interested in purchasing. Money makes people patient.

I can all but guarantee you it's not the developers who are setting those deadlines (if you can actually call them "deadlines", as it's rarely been announced as anything more than their plan or goal). As the publisher or project lead, if you set such a deadline and don't hit it, you examine why. If it's because you set your sights too high, the team encountered unforeseen problems or design decisions changed along the way, it makes absolutely no sense to get rid of developers.

So I gotta agree with Frozen Spirit Jac. The behavior exhibited by many here would *never* be tolerated in the workplace, regardless of their flawed perception of reality.

Some of us have been here since closed beta and are at/have been to the point that you have set for yourself.

You have made the mistake in asserting that there is a choice, when there is none. This is the only modern BattleTech shooter/sim on the PC, there IS NO OTHER CHOICE. ...and if you come back and say "you can choose not to play, blah blah, always a choice, blah blah, determinism, blah blah" that, sir, is a cop-out.

So, you're forced to play this game, regardless of how dissatisfied with it you might be? I've got news for you. You don't *have* to play a game simply because it's the only one available - especially when it elicits such a negative attitude in you. *Choosing* to do so is *your* call.

Lol! Really? That's what you're going with? Keep 'em coming. You're only proving my point.

Priceless.

Haha, which makes Canada more pathetic in that it has a blue print on HOW NOT TO DO IT, but are gonna do it anyway.

Reminds me of a certain developer that worked on bass pro fishing and Duke Nukem.

You have a very generous boss. If I had self imposed deadlines that I missed constantly, I would be fired for incompetence. If you cannot give yourself a fair deadline, it's best to not set one. They (and you if it applies) need to learn a lesson from Mr Scott. Always OVER estimate the amount of time that you need. That way when it's done early, you look like a genius. Instead of losing credibility.

As I said before, what my boss expects out of me doesn't always align with what I tell the players. The metrics on which he judges me is based on how rich I make him, and how rich I can make him in the future.

This is all very topical to me right now, as I'm doing performance reviews. Friggin HATE this time of year, but it's important to give your employees feedback. And what I consider them doing a good job doesn't always line up with what the customers think is a good job. They want perfection; I want to limit variance. Sometimes you just have to let a customer be pissed, because to do otherwise will affect everyone else negatively.

A guidline is something that you can come close to following. These guys can't follow their own roadmap that once again, they laid out. The amount of stuff that has been coming soon is staggering.

No one said anything about getting anyone fired. Its all hypothetical.

And I still gotta say that if your boss asks "when will you have it done?" and you "say give me a month". If six months down the line you have not produced, you will be seeking other employment.

That has happened here time and time again with no explanation, until they started shoehorning into UI2.0 Now even that has gotten far behind once schedule. It's really sad, it would not be acceptable in the everyday workplace. Right now this game is living off of the art dept. I'm saying that it is time for the other guys to step their game up and be noticed for good things being added instead of being the butt of jokes.

You want to know about missed SLAs? Some servers in the build process which we normally have a 5 day SLA for are 16 months overdue. Is my boss pissed about it? Nope. There are reasons they are like that. I have his full support.

Have you given your boss reasons for the delays, parts vendors, programming issues?

Did you tell your boss that it would be done next Friday, then say nothing when you missed the date? When asked about it you give evasive answers, then none at all?

As I have said, your boss is generous. The players here are the bosses per se(no more players, no more game). They are not as generous or forgiving as yours, and its showing. People can't fire the developers, so they fire themselves and stop playing.

You aren't PGI's boss. You are merely a customer. My boss cares about things like "Are we meeting our metrics?"
