Mech close-combat and melee weapons, though in the board game, I have never seen any in the games. It might just be me, but I think hitting someone with a giant mace or a katana sounds kinda cool. ;)

Not at launch, but devs said that if they find a way to implement it, it will get in. ;)

Once they add crouching, Mechs can then use Kung Fu and utilize the Exploding ******* Technique on Mechs to cause instant critical damage. How cool! Mechs with karate-chop action! HASSAN-CHOP!

.

And that was me ATTEMPTING to hold back my sarcasm. ;)

true but it looks kinda hard to implement it in a balanced way...

The thing with kicking/punching in the TT game was, if you missed you probably WERE going to fall, and if you hit, you Might fall down. It's all those pesky piloting checks you had to make. Although I'd LOVE to see the Hacthetman, Axeman, or Buccaneer mech in game, there are plenty future releases to keep me busy.

I,ve always thought mech melee was silly and unrealistic. Take 2 40 ton track hoe excavators and start smashing their business ends together and see how long they last, space age materials or not. How would you even control the punching or kicking action from the cockpit without a multitude of hardware. Save this kung fu nonsense for Robotech , besides a mech with a hatchet is like bringing a knife to a gun fight. Even charging would concuss both pilots out of the fight and into the hospital.

Let's see now, I want to take a state of the art weapons system and use it like a club...maybe, but not until every bullet in my ballistics weapons, every capictor in my lasers and every rocket in my missile systems is gone...and then, the radio had better be out preventing me from calling in artillary or air strikes. Martial Arts are intended to turn YOUR body into a weapon when you dont have one! Hand to hand fighting with Mechs is beyond stupid!

im hopeing they do add melee to the game and when they are ready to do so add the Hatchetman

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Hatchetman

this mech was alot of fun to use in urban combat on the pen and paper game and would be a fun brawler in the game :)
