Gauss used by a vet is good, used by a rookie in a trial not so much.
People forget how confusing movement can be when your new it handles very differently from an fps, which means shooting is more complex, so having a high skill weapon on a trial mech is sub optimal.

DDD, can you do me a small favor and start using quotes when you reply to someone? The button is usually on the bottom right side of a post. I don't know if you are on a mobile device that doesn't display such a thing, but in that case can you atleast use an @name at the beginning to indicate who you are replying to? Thanks.

Well i didnt know it'd start a new page when i did the reply, as a rule i only quote if what i'm replying to isnt right above my post as its a little redundant to quote what's right above your own post.

Not edits... quotes. But instead of quoting the entire thing I make it easy for people to see the important parts I am addressing. No reason to post about you having problems with canucks and the other unrelated stuff is there?
Ok I am done here you can have the last word. Seeing by the number of posts you have you have a lot to say to everyone. Some day you will realize you don't know everything and more importantly you sure don't speak for anyone. So go ahead the stage is all yours.
and quotes taken out of context (aka, edited) become lies. Keep trying. Oh, and go reread your own post, then look long and hard in the mirror. I never tried to speak for everyone, but unlike you, I realize that people need options. Having the Gauss on a trial is actually very useful, whether you want it there or not, because YOU don't speak for everyone, either. Bloody myopic hypocrite.

It is a difficult thing to master, but even more experienced, yet new players, will frequently use Trials to get a feel for a chassis or weapon before buying. Too often I see posts where someone buys something, tries it 2-3 matches, then sells. In other words, never actually learning how to use it, first. I'm pretty sure having a single Trial representing the highest learning curve weapon in the game is not going to ruin the game. That said, they need to rotate the trials a lot more frequently, like once a week, or at least once a patch, so that said weapon does not block out a weight category for a month at a time.
Though in this case, it's funny that some are crying over the Gauss, when they should be complaining about being stuck with the Dragon, lol!

I wouldn't be surprised if we get a new trial Heavy next month. Most recient trials are the Cent, Spider, BJ, and Highlander. A trial Cataphrat or Jager would be cool and seems pretty logical, since the Champion mechs seem to be popular builds. Then again, we could end up with a Champion Quickdraw.
As for the Gauss, yes, it's annoying. The Champion Atlas has one too. It's just not a trial mech anymore.

I hadn't even thought of that, I didn't really notice any less survivability in the Dragon, to be fair though one match isn't a good test of longevity.

I take it the 5N is the "best" Dragon? Was overall impressed with the mech.

And this is why we can't have nice things.

I was thinking about the Trial mechs, should the "Champion Mechs" should be cumulative?
This will give more options to new players by eventually amassing 1 variant of every chassis to allow people to try all mechs before buying.
Random idea.
