It does explain how you have lasted so long and why you still play!

You just love being wrong when you make assumptions about me don't you? I always check names. I do it cause I see so many here and I wanna know if I have to kill with prejudice or tongue in cheek. But you can keep trying. :P

Is this the monthly, "Oh no the game is dying the population is drying up!" thread that has been going on since early Closed Beta? No one cares. If PGI closes the doors tomorrow big F'n deal. Yes I have invested money in this game and no I don't care if they close the doors, if they do I'll play something else and consider the money I paid well worth the time I got out of it.

I honestly don't get the people who scream about how dirty rotten money grubbing a company is, and then play their game or don't play their game but haunt their forums. What a waste of breath, time, space, and organic material.

and this is a genuine high five, not a sarcastic one

I have not gotten a "Match timed out", or waited more than 2 minutes to get a Match in a very long time. Not sure how that works when there are no players but whatever...

The Elo range the MM uses gets much larger, the longer you wait.

It's not like people are saying there's only 50 people playing, or anything like that.

I have 2500 games since the wipe and have played two since a week after Phoenix dropped. My company commander quit too and posted a well put post on MWO's reddit. When people like this quit you have problems... reddit: http://www.reddit.co...ns_to_play_mwo/

RoFL - well played.

Joe you seem like a nice enough guy, but you come across as very fanboi. You always post to say that "nothing is wrong", "things are working just fine", "there are no exploits", "nothing is really broken or imbalanced", "learn to play".

Basically you post all day long countering every complaint everyone makes. Even though almost all these complaints are very true, widespread, and ******* people off badly.

I can see you wanting to put a good image on for the sake of the games future, but honestly dude, no one is fooled, too many people see the issues, and know they are real / experienced them firsthand.

Hell I want this game to succeed badly. But its been too long with too little.

Are you kidding no game can have a General Discussion forum. Well no game made by PGI can......
Nice to see this ejected after the reddit link. LOL.

The feedback portion of the forum would like to argue against that.

Could someone explain to me how LRM's are the counter to the jump sniping meta ? o.0...

It's pretty simply really. Cat A1 with 6 LRM 5's + advanced target decay + improved sensor range = 10 seconds of chain fire lrms on the jump sniper that barely popped up to alpha strike on one of your team mates. Other mechs can do similar lrm setups but the A1 so far has done the best that I can see/use against the meta. Works really well, not perfectly but very well. That 2 to 4 seconds of time to shoot becomes 12 to 14. Not that hard to figure out is it?

Oh and I don't mean to sound as if artemis needs to go back to how it was either. I do think it needed some change (ie more spread across the mech than simply CT hits).

Does anyone remember when we had a player-counter and the subsequent threads spawned from them?

I mean this was during a time when the vast majority of the community was on PGIs side and the malcontents were extremely vocal minority!

The antidotal rhetoric spawned from them was priceless... Not even mentioning the mathematically trumped-up numbers these malcontents trotted out to prove MW:O was dying...

Point is there are way too many variables as it pertains to time-zone played, time of day played, ones Elo and PUG versus team drops to attempt to form a uncontrived assessment of the vibrancy of the active player base.

You'd have better luck guessing the number of Jelly Beans in the huge mason jar in the corner drugstore to win that snazzy PF Flyer, than trying to rationalize what our active player base is...

Responding to you as well as a few others. I should let you guys know when I say 24/7 I do mean that. I'm a disabled Vet that is home nearly all the time (sadly like 99% of the time). My sleep schedule.. well there is no schedule to it so I may be up for days at a time or sleep for two to four hours tops and then be up again. Not sharing for any sympathy so please don't think that's the case. Just letting you know that yes all your excuses to why I may be noticing such a drastic change in numbers these last couple of weeks are not valid. I even record a lot of my game time, especially now that ShadowPlay is working so well. I can easily show any of you hours of same team versus same team. yes one could argue that this means elo is working fairly well but on the same note think about that.. only 24 in the same elo bracket?
Also as was pointed out take a look at your friends lists.... I too am not seeing a number of people I used to play with, and as I originally posted I am hearing people talking on one of the MW TS's (used to be one of the largest ones too just a few months back) about the other games they are leaving this one for.

Anyways, if I didn't care to see the game stick around and to improve to at least trying to be something of what is promised then I'd not have cared to even post about this. I'm not the troll that is just trying their best to be an arse to the game company because they don't like spending their own money. I've been gaming a long while, since mmo's were first being developed and called visual muds. I've seen games come and go. Was toured through EQ's HQ in San Diego and even walked through the development/idea room by one of their devs, yes I had to sign a non-disclosure. Shrug is all talk, pics or it didn't happen right? lol... hopefully PGI will shock us all and make an arse out of me  we can hope right?

Maybe.

But when is the last time PGI took advice from long standing players? They see negative press, they dump it.

Because they continue to go their own way, make things harder to understand and complex (in a bad way) this game will fail. They have gone so far down the rabbit hole now, there is no turning back. And if they think trying to push this game on to the Xbox One will save it, then they have another thing coming. Console kiddies have even less of an attention span than PC users have, lol.

Ooh! There was a whole thread about this. Dozens upon dozens of things PGI did to listen to the player base were provided as examples. Was a great read.
