Am wondering how you fine folk build your favourite face stomping Mech? Specifically, I've done well with the 2UAC5 2PPC build, but have recently begun enjoying the finer aspects of pounding people in the chomper with 40 points of love using an AC20 and 2PPCs backed up by 2 streaks (to remind those pesky lights that you've not forgotten about them). Both builds run a standard 320 engine of course.

How do you build yours? And isn't it just the best Mech ever made? I think it is; unfairly so. It's only counter imo is a Stalker with ER larges at range on significantly higher / lower ground.

tl;dr; itt: we profess our undying love for the poptarting bar steward meta and discuss our favourite ways to enforce PGI's preferred play style.

XL325 + 4JJs

AC20
3xSRM6
LL + ERLL

max armor, DHS, Endosteel.

It's designed to be played with a strategy of jumping over obstacles sneak 90 tons in behind an opponent to start a brawl. It's fun.

No matter what ballistic and missile loadout i have on my 733C, I almost always have 2 LL and my XL300. Sometimes i do 2UAC 5's, or 2 AC5's, or my AC20. I do not actually use Endo on my HGN, as it takes up too many slots. 2srm 6 or 3 streaks and an AMS are a good choice for the missle hardpoints. You could actually try 2 LPL. I've tried it with an ac20 and streaks, and they are actually quite usefull with the AC20. If you want smurfy's links let me know.

TAG and NARC with MGs for backup.

HGN-733C

Don't know what to do with the 2.56 tons left over.

It's actually quite impressive how you managed to use most of the tonnage there, nice build. I couldn't help but notice that you were missing something though, this build has a slightly faster missile lock on time:

Come on, guys, do it right. That baby needs Ferro-Fibrous*!

HGN-733C

*And AMS ammo, too, because it was bothering me.

Good Lord, that last 0.01 tons must be for what, the pilot's last shred of dignity?

The Highlander is not my favorite face stomping Mech.
This is right now.

I'm loving a similar build but with 2x extra ML, faster and a lot less DHS/ammo

I brawled briefly with a Boar's Head. I say briefly because I barely had time to say "hi" before his torso mounted Gauss exploded... Apparently he thought that a gauss was the perfect weapon to complement four large lasers and an XL engine

XL on an Atlas was his first problem...and then gauss with an XL, even worse.

How do you make all this fit, and still keep it from overheating? Can you post a Smurfy's link?

I currently run mine as follows:

XL325
AC/20 (4T)
2 LLs
3 streaks (2T)
BAP
2 JJs
16 DHS, 512 armor

He runs it probably like this: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...94f2fa0364c520c

Doesn't run cool at all, though.

This would be better, IMO: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6f1fa5d2322aa94

I have not bothered to run the 733C, only the 732.

It's still more or less meta compliant. :-/
