Twin Erll Sniper

SDR-5D 2xERLL: The Spider version can reach the good vantage points.
RVN-3L 2xERLL: The Raven gets the extremely high shooting arm.
Normally you would put an ERPPC on sniper lights, to allow snap shots and to stay hidden - so it probably seems counter intuitive to be giving yourself away with bright laser beams, but people often ignore incoming laser fire, particularly from lights as they assume it's only the one ERLL. People also don't react so fast you can't use your whole beam on one component, and since there is no threatening shock or jolt people don't feel any sense of urgency with incoming laser fire.
The other major advantage is the ability to do damage out to 1,350m, and to lay down 18 points of damage to anything within 675m. Plus it runs a lot cooler for close range fighting than the PPC builds, although these 2xERLL builds are still fairly weak against other lights.
I enjoy both builds a lot, and they're better suited to my low res, low framerate PC. What do you guys think?

I think you're nuts for cutting any amount of leg armor on that spider. The "standard" 2ml 1erll build is probably more effective over all due to survivability. I haven't been able to figure out a build for the 5D that doesn't make extreme sacrifices to run 2 erll.
Last point, I've seen some cicadas running similar loadouts, it might be worth considering that build as well.

It's true that it's pretty fragile, although not as much as the fabled 2ERPPC Spider. But it's carefully calculated for how I use it, because I avoid other lights and spend most of my time tucked behind scenery. So the torsos are heavily weighted towards the front because that's where all the hostile fire is coming from, and generally there's stuff blocking the legs.
Three or four months ago I came across the Raven version and enjoyed it, and when I put the two ERLLs on the Spider I thought for sure it would just be a joke build, particularly after the recent Spider nerf, but I have to say for me it's even more effective that my old ERPPC/2xL build, and way more consistent than the classic 3xMPLs. It's what I still drop with most of the time.

Hot damn.
If any light pilots are interested in trying an ENTIRELY different style of play, this is it.

I would probably reduce the arm armor more to incorporate 2 Small lasers for back up against lights for minimal heat.

It runs as fast as the XL280 raven 3L build, at the expense of 2 DHS.

Yes, but in a duel for a cap point or something like that, my Cda has a higher chance of winning, i like to build my mechs to fill the same role while also being able to counter the same role, like the SHD-2d2 anti-light; always put an AC-10 on it, or you might as well be taking a kintaro.

It worked and became the basis for the jenner, which loses a half-ton of armour to mount a jump jet. JR7-D was the result... I play it as a quick hit and run scout with the PPC and ML for main damage, using streaks to kill enemy light's isolated or harassing friendlies. I try not to fight other light's or do so hit and run style with the PPC/SSRM's straight towards friends, just to scrap them off me.
