Read the link above!

When you find yourself in battle. Trust your heart! The more battles you rack up (and pay attention to the ones you dominate in) you will learn to trust yourself over the chat. Chat=Trolls (Which I'd like fixed somehow), A true warrior can see what the field of battle has set before him and can play it like a chess set! (I prefer Shogi but I digress)

A real warrior will find out his weakness and make it his strength and make his enemy's strength his weakness. (*So what your build overheats but it does 200 damage on an Alpha!) You'll learn to control it through battle. (FYI I'll shutdown to trick my foe to think I overheated so they fire on me.... while the rest of my team rips them apart...)

Moral of the story is. It's not what the Mech can do, but that of the pilot is capable of!

Death before dishonor! ( If you follow the code you will always win!)

Also this - I like to practice and educate this in game- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bushido If Bushido laws applied to chat, these 12yro Trolls would die,

Always respect what you fellow warrior is doing, unless it's disrespectful!

Surprised I'm not seeing a black dragon under your name there.

Not exactly true that no one is a nub (after all, no amount of inner calm will tell you that LRM's don't arm under 180m), but you do have a point that it's more important to be clever than experienced in the game.

Announcing you practice Bushido warrior codes in an online sim and outside of a Draconis Combine RP forum is probably why people troll you.

I personally settle for some good sportsmanship. I think that's the most we can ask.

Noobie = new player, only getting to know the game
Noob = bad veteran player, can or will not learn

The former can be helped, taught, directed. The latter will make you lose like it's his job.

Noob = Newbie aka beginner. Nowadays used to insult, mock players.

There are large debates over what those two terms mean

I generally go with Modo's definition, as Newb has New in it, while N00b is 1337 speak and thus generally used more for mockery or Epeening.

However, my first thought on seeing the title was
"of course no one is a nub, I am not aware of any person being readily compared to a small bump."

Newbie = Someone who buys an Awesome because they remember it from TT and liked it, without doing much research into it.
Noob = Someone who steadfastly claims it is comparable to a Victor.

Easy reference example. ;)

I would rephrase the OP's title:
"Everyone is a Noob"

You know the old thing Sokrates once said:
"I know that i know nothing"

which translates to:
"I'm constantly learning and whatever i think is right today can always be wrong tomorrow"

So when playing i try to assume that everyone has their own plan of doing something which may not correlate to what i think is better. And whatever he does it's neither my business not my right to blame him for that.
When thinking this way you are far less tempted to start stupid flaming in the chat.

Of cause you are always allowed to give advice if you think a player does something suboptimal.
But it should be as constructive and respectful as possible.

If you can't say anything constructive to another player's actions, then simply write nothing. Everything you could type in this situation is most probably nothing more than utter BS. Just move on to the next game.

So in my opinion everyone who's flaming another player (e.g. for being a noob) is probably a much bigger noob because in their mindset they are already the kings who know everything which can never be true.
Those are very often the guys who are unable to self-reflect and analyse their past games and instead blaming others for their mistakes.

Also keep in mind that not everyone is as thick-skinned as most of us when being flamed.
Sooner or later that stupid flamer will insult the low-self-esteem-guy which takes this very serious and get's sad instead of having fun playing a good game.

So don't be a ***** and respect the ones you are playing with. ;)
