Aren't you making claims that the match maker is putting equal number of premades on each team in an atempt at balancing?

Needs citation.

It doesn't say that. It just says there are 2 queues. One for 8mans and one for up to 4man premades and solo players.

I believe this is the relevent part you are misinterpreting >
  • 2, 3, 4 player groups will be matched against other groups and solo players per Phase 1 rules.
All that is saying is that 2,3,4, player groups will get matched with other groups and solo players. Even if you were reading it as a literal 'will be matched', it's still not saying that it's 1 premade = 1 premade. In fact the literal scenario they conjure is that 2 4mans on one side, and possibly a 2 man and 6 solo players on the other

But that isn't even what they mean. It just saying there is a split queue and new group limits.

And it goes on to clarify>

Quote

4-Player Maximum means that you can create a group from 2-4 players. These groups will be launched against the general player base as per the current Match Maker system. Groups using this system will be bound to equalization of Mech Chassis balancing (for every Mech of a specific weight class on one team, there is another of the same weight class on the opposing team.)

Still waiting for sauce.

Marking premades in the matchmaker would make this discussion a lot easier.

And maybe there is a reason other games seperate pugs or let only small premadegroups in their pug games?

Do you remember why the 8vs8 queue where introduced?
And that a lot of premades split up after that and still played puggames or tried to syncdrop?
I dont know why? Maybe someone can explain that ...

I am not a PvPer in the traditional sense, i never PvPed to kill, i played Sims and Sportgames and like Coop more than PvP but i like Mechwarrior so much that i play MWO despite being a PvP game and i try to stay on the "Fun" side where Meta builds are not the only way to go and fights occur once in a time.

I am here to "Fight" other Mechs, the "Kill" is at some Point the logical end of a fight but to me the best fights take not a few seconds to eliminate the opposition but minutes to wear down the enemy, involve much movement and the destruction of body parts to get a tactical advantage ad finally the kill.

I hate the current Meta!

No, pub games are usually full of lobotomy builds.

Back to OP. I voted "No". I drop EU-primetime and it is no problem finding a match up until around 11PM GMT weekdays when central Europe goes to bed. After that it's dead until NA goes online.
And if you like 12-mans, consider joining an unit that has the playerbase to support such activities. It's really boring to wait for the 12th player to show up or having to split after two drops because someone has to leave. Better to have one (or two, or three...) 12-mans running + a bunch of players ready to fill in if someone drops out...

We've been doing drops on monday and wednesday evenings in the EU timezone (GMT 20.00 ->). Those times seem to be reasonably populated eg. more than 5 teams dropping at a time.
Weekend times seem to be very slow though.

The fact that 5 teams (60 players) is what we call "Acceptable" at this point is completely embarrassing and shows how tiny this games player count is.
