What did everyone else guess? :)

I made several posts in these forums three months ago in which I predicted:
  • Clan Mech pack will be made available in December, in time for Christmas
  • pricing will be much more than Phoenix - because Star Citizen raised the bar on tolerable pricing
I did not predict P2W Gold Mechs or that we would still be waiting for UI2.0.

This is just getting out of hand. I will no longer support this game with my money.

You know that PGI is in dire straits when even colonic panda venison, who has been universally wrong about every statement he has made about MWO, ever, calls PGI out on this hilarious, desperate, Minimum Viable Product cash grab.

It's not actually an assumption, they've already said they haven't figured out how to balance the clans. Isn't it a bit pushy to sell us something they haven't actually CREATED yet?

Yes. Anyone remeber that "Clans will come late spring '2013" BS? They just lied.

So after reading this thread for a while now, I'm reminded of some wisdom my grandfather once gave me about mules. Why mules? Keep reading to find out, friend.

You see, mules are stubborn creatures. Strong, with thick skin, if you treat them right, then they don't get as stubborn quite as often. Still happens, but the mule learns that you're not gonna hurt them. Trust eventually follows, and the mule becomes the best animal you've ever owned.

The opposite also holds true. Never beat a mule, even once. That mule is a vindictive creature, even more stubborn in his anger than in day to day life. That very mule that you struck in anger, even once, will wait years to get even with you. If you're lucky and only hurt the mule once, then you might come out of it okay. But if you've repeatedly abused the poor creature, he might just be your undoing.

The way I see it, the loyal fans around here are a lot like a big, proverbial mule (yes, jackass jokes are a given, but not my point). Eventually, that mule will repay the treatment he's received. And there's a growing argument for that mule having taken a lot of abuse to date.

Ha, the poor PGI mule must be unrecognizable by this point. Whack, whack, whack...

I'm going to give my feedback in a 'I've been playing since Sept. 2013' vacuum because reading on the history of how things have happened makes me sad. So, barring how horribly they've handled some things in MWO so far...

The $240 dollar package actually looks like a solid deal. The biggest problem is that it makes people aware of how much micro-transaction 'free-to-play' games will cost you if you try to get to everything first. It's in no way pay to win. Regarding the $500 novelty 'mechs ( which is really the only truly egregious part), really? The rest of it looks fine, and is on par with most other micro-transaction games out there, that one though....

Anyway, the next misconception; Omnimechs. This has and probably never will mean 'Put anything anywhere.' (and 60+ pages later, someone has probably covered this already). It just means that there are sections of a 'mech where you can put anything. Not that you can put anything wherever you want all over the 'mech.

It sounds like for some that this is the last needle, and I actually can understand where they're coming from, but this doesn't seem like any more of a cash grab than the early access package for PP. Probably has more to do that other MicroT games do a better job of keeping the actual costs of getting content behind the curtain.

Just keep that in mind. Barring that weirdo $500 deal, it's nothing more than an early access package with perks. Someone with even more time than myself will do the math, and if the bonuses on the prime variants are similar to the Phoenix variants (and additional bonus past cbills/loyalty), all the stuff will pan out to actually be rather cheap.

No more pushy than what people at Star Citizen are doing, yet people seem to praise Star Citizen. You don't have to buy anything. You can wait until they describe what the clan stuff will be like. I see no one forcing me to buy it. I just see it advertised where all their sales are advertised. I see nothing pushy about it.

Sounds like kickstarter, new games, new consoles, ect ect. No it's not pushy it's just a preorder if YOU WANT TO. If you don't want to preorder then take it as an announcment for the clans.

No they said they are working on balancing the clans (which should be done btw)

Hmm? I've been here since the beginning. The other side of all the whiners are Kong, Goons, ect... they've always whined like this making it seem worse than it really is. I'm sorry you're easily swayed.

I'm offended sir, it took me until the death knell was released and consumables were announced to complain on the forums

If we reward PGI, by paying these very inflated prices to keep grinding in a half-finished game with no meta, then PGI will just keep pumping out Mech packs, the next Mech pack will be even more expensive, and they'll continue to stall on upgrading the core game.

It's time to stop enabling PGI's lack of progress on the core game. No more spending on Mechs until we get lobbies, UI 2.0 and Community Warfare.

If most of us don't get suckered again into paying these stupid prices for more Mechs in an endless grindfest, then PGI will be forced to find other ways to entice us to pay. For example, progressing the core game and showing us there's a reason to bother buying more Mechs.

Some might say: if they don't get our money, then they might fold. I guess that's possible. But frankly, maybe it's time we took that risk. For the past year we've been spending money on the game in the expectation that they would give us lobbies and CW, and we've been strung along with promises and no delivery.

If we let PGIU continue to sucker us with more Mechs but no metagame, then we'll still be here next Christmas debating the next Mech pack for $400 and $1000 Platinum Mechs.

Bumped as well.
