These prices are insulting. Especially two weeks before Christmas - who could afford this? You people aren't even trying to develop a game any more. You're just selling mechs.

Eight, sorry. [/size]

Why in Kerensky's name PGI didn't let the community submit maps for consideration is beyond me. If they were smart they would have encouraged submissions and paid for them in virtual assets (eg. 3 free Mechs for every new map adopted).

There would have been very little real cost to PGI, and it would have created huge grind relief for the playerbase.

User submitted content is not really an easy thing to do. There's all kinds of issues with copyright involved. If someone uses some copyrighted asset or outright submits someone else's map, there's hell to pay. Then we have the issues with how much time would be spent by PGI going over these for quality assurance, seeing how many places you can get stuck etc. etc. etc.. It's not as simple as you make it sound, sadly :)

If MW:O goes under I highly encourage you guys to begin a writing campaign to Kotaku saying that if they do a post-mortem, they should look at this stuff.

I am just waiting for someone to say "Oh we were super excited about the game but there just wasn't interest in the IP! So we had to shut down." and not "Yeah we kinda blew it start to finish, decided to listen to nobody, not properly test anything, leave broken features in the game at launch (Hello, Pinpoint/Command Console/Fast Fire/etc), do several things the community clearly said they hated and then keep promising something we didn't even start work on."

What angers me the most is these aren't honest mistakes, or mistakes made by being a small company. They are just flat out borderline trolling of the community by someone who thinks they know way, way more about this than they do.

As always, the artworks look great. But I expect the 'Mechs to look less cool ingame (as always).

Pricing is as expected, its in the same range of previous packages.

And we know now that there will be no Omnis in MWO.

I knew the Clan pack would follow it and immediately outdate it; predicted it over and over on the forums. I'm hardly a psychic, anyone with eyes open could see it.

Plus PGI doesn't know what makes a good mech or a bad mech, so they made the best 'mech in the pack the Shadow Hawk and put it out in November. So yeah. I could care less about the rest of it.

They gave bonus variants to half of TRO3050 Clan Omnis. Not one per weight class, but half of them. It feels... unifnished. What's your opinion, will they later sell reinforcement packages for other half? (Dasher, Koshi, Dragonfly, Fenris, Vulture, Loki, Gargoyle, Gladiator)?

You missed the point.

He's not mad they are selling 'mechs.

He's mad they are selling 'mechs instead of making a game.

I don't hold Flying Debris or the model team to any fault.

I'm ready to buy clan pack, but only if a mechs clan will have an advantage over mechs sphere.

Okay, so we all know I'm not exactly a Clan lover per se. In fact, the only Clan mech I would have been excited about is not in the game or announced yet (some day, my Ice Ferret!). However, tthis founders package is worrisome for multiple reasons, many of which have been discussed. Blatant cash grab and worrisome economics aside, we also have not seen several core features implemented yet. Several posters I'm sure have said my point of view more eloquently, so I won't belabor the point. However, I wish to add my voice to the rising chorus whom proclaim, "No Clans until Community Warfare!"

14 hours later and almost 1900 posts. That's 2.24 posts / minute. If this keeps up, PGI's going to have a lot of reading to do come Monday...

Do you really think that they will read it? they do not care about it.

PGI says it takes $250K and a metric krapton of developer time to make a map. That approach has delivered only 8 maps in two years.

If the same money/time had been invested in community generated maps, we would surely be ahead.

What the next shady enterprise? To buy Global Map for 1000 dollars in summer 2015? :)

One thing is for sure: this is not a move to squeeze more money to the BT fans.

I can bet Ekman and Bullok on this!

Why do I have a bad feeling that this is some sort of a last ditch effort from PGI to grab money from the fan base then run and just kill the game? :D

We're all so mad about the price, we're ignoring the fact that Clan 'mechs are being dumped into the general population without separate accounts, and cannot be made as bad as IS 'mechs ton for ton, so effectively everyone's garage will be outdated and second rate without Clantech.

So this whole launch blows before we even THINK of talking price!

Solaris expansion. $2,500 for 8 solaris mechs and 2 new maps. Maybe 1 if the budget is tight.

Price is not just high. It is TOO high. Methinks that they need to f--- dismiss their marketers.
