Quote this if you're down.
Yup. I was fully ready to go buy some MC earlier today. Wanted to grab a couple of the hero mechs and such. Then, I see this... I mean I hate to jump on a bandwagon of community outrage and all but these guys are just taking the **** at this point. The Phoenix pack was relatively reasonable for what it was but this? And the $500 Blingmechs are just the icing on the cake.
You are out of your damned mind, PGI. Start earning some of the cash you've already gotten out of people before you lay stuff like this on the table.

I sincerely hope that something is done by PGI to remedy this in, and soon. Whether or not it's true, it does APPEAR to many to be a fast cash grab. The fans need something to reassure them that this is worth it and the game is worth continued investment in.

You are talking about people who can't spend under a minute doing this:
- Load weapons XML
- Search desired weapon
- Edit number on desired weapon
- File -> Save As
But nope. Can't take that 30 seconds. Took ALL month to change some hit boxes.. oh wait, that was the 'mech team, not the gameplay team. Sorry, they're working on UI--- oh wait, hired a UI guy. Must be the Clan stu--- oh wait, that's the 'mech team.
What is the game play team doing again?*
* Except Thomas. Thomas is the only dev that shows us stuff he's working on, then delivers said stuff. He should be the new lead.
[ED: Speaking of which what do you want to bet he codes and implements fully working turrets before Paul & Russ can figure out how to let us chose a faction for CW? Place your bets!]

Why in Kerensky's name PGI didn't let the community submit maps for consideration is beyond me. If they were smart they would have encouraged submissions and paid for them in virtual assets (eg. 3 free Mechs for every new map adopted).
There would have been very little real cost to PGI, and it would have created huge grind relief for the playerbase.
Night versions don't count. Map tools let you basically click on the light entity, and adjust it's properties, and/or turn it off. Took 'em about 15 mins per map to turn the lights off.
On topic:
I'm guessing a few people didn't see this shameless cash grab coming. I mean, with Phoenix getting closed down, a large Christmas sale/sales was inevitable.
It's not about the price points. If all you are looking at is dollars/mechs, yeah, you algebraic ones can say great deal. Do I think their package prices are high? OMG yes.
To me, what it's 'about', is the obvious desperation in this latest debacle. So shamelessly soon after Phoenix, and yet embarrassingly ahead of core game features, fixes, and a new player experience of some kind.
Hey, to you people who have money to burn, go for it. Even if you got 50 mechs in a pack, you get to do what?
> More of the same.
The next step in the cash grab path is UI 2.0. You can bet yer bippy we'll see it in January. How else to bolster some form of confidence in buying these clan packs? So PGI can say 'UI 2.0 released: Players Rejoice'.
Just so they can say 'Yep, we put out content' .....
We'll get a broken version, of course. Proof?
'Our target is to launch UI 2.0 as soon as possible and iron out the kinks over the next few months.'
Source: http://mwomercs.com/...date-dec-22013/
We get to pull our hair out (again), yet some people will mark this as content delivered, while we actually get to do ..... the same old thing. Lather, rinse, repeat, patch, in 3 months after UI2.0 comes out, we MAY have a workable UI.
During that time, what big cash grab will go up next? While we await the first, most likely broken phase of CW?
Nah. After the SW:ToR debacle, I committed to a box game budget on this game, and I am sticking to it. I saw the Phoenix deal for what it was, and this newest kick in the nads is only proof positive that extreme desperation is afoot.
End Point: this sale should NEVER have been put out at this time. This game development is like watching a monkey trying to hammer a square peg into a round hole.
I can't fathom how some miss this, but whatever. I can afford to lose $500, though I'm not too keen on it. Except in this case, I'm sure it'll be a loss. I have no doubts about that. I won't lose any amount of money on a sure loss.
Just gonna warm my feet by the fire.

I'm more suprised that they even have enough art ready for the package more than anything else. 30 per tier is fair enough when you take into account the TT Cbill prices on Clan mechs because of the DHS/XL engine spam.

There were quite a few of my guild/mercs/whatever-you-want-to-call-it that bought the Overlord package, myself included, but as much as we're all excited about clan mechs, I just can't see any of us buying these. When you consider what else you can buy for £150-300... I'm better off spending that on new television or a holiday abroad It's just ridiculous and a little bit insulting.
I would have considered it if they were half that current price, even though that would still be stupidly expensive and I would know I was being ripped off, but I could just about justify it to myself. This however, no, just no.
Really bad form from PGI this.

Everyone just give pgi .i.. this and uninstall and wait at least 2 or 3 months save your money and do something productive outside playing this game and see how they change their tune.

Sadly this game will die before anything is done. A lot of new good looking games coming down the pipeline, they are trying to milk this one for every last $ they can get before they go belly up... that's my opinion.

I considered that too, I feel if you want an IS pilot play IS, but if you want this Clan Package make a new account. We started with 4 mechs and no hit registration. They start with 8 and a full stable of mechs already??? I'm just saying. And if there is any kind of meaningful CW, how does that play out if all the IS pilots bring Timber Wolves???? That makes zero sense to me. +1 for catching it Victor.
I caught it too. The feedback is flying so fast, though, that nobody probably read my post.
I am not saying this to try to take credit. I am saying it to state once again, since it likely got overlooked, that this seriously concerns me and will easily ruin the game for anyone who cares about the who BT lore. The clan invasion will have no point and will just feel like another House or two showing up. The clans will have no teeth. You know, the people who are the core of the fanbase and are actually throwing money at this game.
