everyone wants the timberwolf. but you put it behind such a high paywall that everyone is pissed off.
Absolutely. The way that was handled was one of the dumbest parts.

Just a heads up, NGNG is often little more than a paid mouthpiece for PGI.
Though I do give them credit for asking PGI some tough questions I put up. Unfortunately PGI got all the answers wrong and wiggled out of it. It did clear up that the people making the game don't understand any of the mechanics in the game, though.

Of all the legitimate complaints about PGI, the artwork is not one of them.
Normally, yes. Flying Debris and the 'mech team do a great job.
The pictured skin is a zero effort gold texture slapped on the model. For $500.

And I mean both the prices and the size of this thread. But then again - I'm on the same side as most of the posters in this thead: The pricing is monstrous. Absolutely monstrous. When you add to the cocktail, that we are still lacking a good deal of core features and suffer from a group of longstanding bugs (hit detection issues in general, and hit detection for SRM in particular), and the devs have gone totally off the radar after they showed a pleasent comeback in the communication department, I'm in the same boat: I am apalled by the pattern of thought this insinuates, and am worried about the future of this game. It does look like a last smash n' grab on the game before throwing it to the winds.

Actualy a gold skin takes 0 effort on their part if they already have the default texture.
It is litteraly a gold color texture mask over the default texture and a blank specular map. with one of cryengine's own default shiny metal shaders. its maybe 30 minutes of extra work once the base mech is done

After months of failed promises and cash grabs , what I get for my hard-earned money is demo-level content , terrible game ballance , and a pretty collection of nicely colored mechs i would like to teleport to another, better mech-world....

For my 2014 hard-earned money I'd rather buy some nice spaceships in Star Citizen and/or Elite:Dangerous...

However..
3049: OPERATION REVIVAL
The Timber Wolf looks great

But seriosly... 210$? 500$ for 1 single 'Mech?

At this point i can only try to guess:
1) IGP wants from the game a big profit.
2) PGI swims in debts.
Other ideas?

3) It's a front for a money grab and they run off with it
In all seriousness, I am sure there are enough players purchasing the packages - without any further information on Clan/IS balancing, mech hard points, variants, module/medallion bonuses, etc - which is an indicator that tells PGI/IGP they are doing a 'good' job.

3) PGI lazily think they can keep gouging the playerbase for more cash by just selling more Mech packs, instead of actually coding a genuine metagame, teams lobby, VOIP function, etc.
