I will start off this post with a very familiar and rather relevant to my post. "Information Is Ammunition" -Adam Steiner. Why is this relevant and somewhat important? This is the axiom that you guys should be living by. I've been a steadfast and loyal supporter of MW:O since the days of Closed Beta. I've been holding on to the dream that all the promises and content would come true. To be Honest I still do. However releasing Clan Mechs and Clan Tech in six months with how the game is now with the prices as they are no with little to now information as to why we need to buy these Mech Packs is rather foolhardy and preying upon the rich players and die hard fanatics (Myself Included). You guys as of now are currently alienating your fan base. No new actual game content and such and I specifically remember Sean and Bombadil from No Guts No Galaxy twitch. tv casts saying the new patch on Tuesday is and I quote "Going to Blow Our Minds" Our minds better be indeed Blown not just from the room but the entire house. I want this franchise to return to its former glory. Perhaps even greater than before. I want to be able to walk into cyber cafes and game hub stations and such and poudly shout with all the pride I can muster "I Play MechWarrior Online" and see the most die-hard fanatical W.O.W players look upon me in shame of not playing MWO but currently how things are its more like we should hide these facts under a rug and hope no one notices. An official response with information on the next 6 months of how the game is going and planned is needed. The higher ups need to be more involved in speaking and LISTENING to the community. Take the rest of this year to do minor fixes and such after the new patch as well as to enjoy the holidays but it would be best come January and the new year to Knuckle Down and work hard to bring the meat and potatoes of the game into play. Information is Ammunition, PGI/IGP. Next year, Live by this Axiom.

my suggestion. split the clan packages up. make it two packages, both containing one of every weight class.
everyone wants the timberwolf. but you put it behind such a high paywall that everyone is pissed off.

Absolutely. The way that was handled was one of the dumbest parts.

Of all the legitimate complaints about PGI, the artwork is not one of them.

As I said in my other post, I never openly critised PGI but I really don't have any words for this .. so in protest, I have a new signature (thanks to Chrono).

Just a heads up, NGNG is often little more than a paid mouthpiece for PGI.

Though I do give them credit for asking PGI some tough questions I put up. Unfortunately PGI got all the answers wrong and wiggled out of it. It did clear up that the people making the game don't understand any of the mechanics in the game, though.

Normally, yes. Flying Debris and the 'mech team do a great job.

The pictured skin is a zero effort gold texture slapped on the model. For $500.

I love how the Gold Mechs are ''limited quantity'' ... but the limit is not specified.

The artwork yes, but in-game graphics can look less bright when compared to artwork.

Oh boy. That escalated quickly.

And I mean both the prices and the size of this thread. But then again - I'm on the same side as most of the posters in this thead: The pricing is monstrous. Absolutely monstrous. When you add to the cocktail, that we are still lacking a good deal of core features and suffer from a group of longstanding bugs (hit detection issues in general, and hit detection for SRM in particular), and the devs have gone totally off the radar after they showed a pleasent comeback in the communication department, I'm in the same boat: I am apalled by the pattern of thought this insinuates, and am worried about the future of this game. It does look like a last smash n' grab on the game before throwing it to the winds.

Actualy a gold skin takes 0 effort on their part if they already have the default texture.
It is litteraly a gold color texture mask over the default texture and a blank specular map. with one of cryengine's own default shiny metal shaders. its maybe 30 minutes of extra work once the base mech is done

I strongly suspect that they will carry on to release mech packages until the point where they cant find any excuses on why the CW is not releasing and sell this IP to other devs after they have finished milking money out from us!!!

It's a concept drawing. You know that, right?

I was a loyal (paying) customer for almost a year, my expectations were high... :excl:

After months of failed promises and cash grabs , what I get for my hard-earned money is demo-level content , terrible game ballance , and a pretty collection of nicely colored mechs i would like to teleport to another, better mech-world....

For my 2014 hard-earned money I'd rather buy some nice spaceships in Star Citizen and/or Elite:Dangerous... :D

Does this mean Inner Sphere players will have access to Clan 'Mechs? <_<

However..

3049: OPERATION REVIVAL

The Timber Wolf looks great :D  :excl:

But seriosly... 210$? 500$ for 1 single 'Mech? :excl:

At this point i can only try to guess:
1) IGP wants from the game a big profit.
2) PGI swims in debts.

Other ideas?

3) It's a front for a money grab and they run off with it

In all seriousness, I am sure there are enough players purchasing the packages - without any further information on Clan/IS balancing, mech hard points, variants, module/medallion bonuses, etc - which is an indicator that tells PGI/IGP they are doing a 'good' job.

3) PGI lazily think they can keep gouging the playerbase for more cash by just selling more Mech packs, instead of actually coding a genuine metagame, teams lobby, VOIP function, etc.
