How about that $40+ ships in Star Citizen?

In SC your Pledging to help MAKE the game, not buying it for the ship. If you are then your doing it wrong.

I have to agree many of the other posters. I won't spend another dime on this game until we move on towards CW. New 'mechs may be the current cash cow, but your revenue from that stuff counts on keeping players playing.

Screenshotting this for when we find out it'll be a year+ before the Timberwolf is available for c-bill purchase.

If they do the cbill release like they did the Phoenix cbill releases yeah it will be SEVEN months after the june release before timberwolves hit the open market.

As I have said previously, that is crowd funding, and it is for a game which hasn't been released and won't be until its ready with its promised features for each stage of its development.

While here we have a game which was funded with multiple promises of content which still isn't implemented based on its original funding it gained, but still asks for more with very little in the way of actual content for the game which isn't more mechs for more money

And for the record, I find the ship prices of Star Citizen insanely overpriced anyway - But as I stress, its your money to do with as you wish

Punched in the guts... are you frelling kidding me, PGI?!?!?! Nail in the coffin, much?

I guess I just thought there would be more time.

Also, Marvyn Dodgers... where is it said that frelling is a bad word? It's a lot better than the word your people made me feel like using. Leave it alone, or I'll take this higher!

I'm not one to talk, but I find it puzzling that anyone would begrudge me or anyone else spending my hard-earned money on a virtual shiny or anything else for that matter.
People begrudge the rewarding of ****** dev work TBH. If the game had actually shown any advance in the last year then people might not care at all.

I've spent $240,00 myself, $55.00 for my 6yr/old, and $40.00 on my old man to play it and support this game so far.

But $240.00? I could of at least understood the same layout as the Phoenix for $20.00 a tier. I probably would of payed it without a hitch. But not only that, but only 90 days of premium time it should be a minimum lifetime premium on all the mechs bought for the asking price of top tier... (Not that I really care about the Cbills or the exp to be honest by the time this is released I'll just use general EXP to grab basic of all 8 if I ever purchase them....hell I'd probably just transfer it over from my mechs and spend $50.00 in transfer cost because what the heck, I've already bought the house and elite them all as well...)

I bought a Lifetime sub to Secret World for $200+50 box copy. $250.00 that is all. I'll never have to spend a dime on that game ever. You see where I am going with it? I was honestly expecting to pay about 80-120 for the Clan stuff. I said, ok I like giant robot and although I'm not big into the TT or old CCG Mechwarrior games were always awesome and plucked down for this game and Phoenix package hoping for some more. I have never and will never by a Hero mech short of Sarah's. Asking $15-30 bucks for a mech is to much in my book honestly as it is.

But what are we left with, where is our new map(s), CW, etc.? Buy new mechs is all this game offers. But new patterns that aren't unlocked for all chassis, just each one, and the colors as well? At inflated prices. As the comments continue to roll, the pricing for this is a bit outrageous, I hope you as a company sincerely look at it and reprice it accordingly.

You know! I don't even want to be a clanner? The Inner Sphere Gear and content and [redacted] even battling is not fixed yet? Why do I want a clan pack? Maybe I could scrape the 240 in six months yeah but $500 for one? Holy cr@p!

For $500?! [redacted]

I have a feeling that PGI/IGP has been looking far too long at the success Star Citizen has at crowd funding. Who wouldn't want to emulate a notable and well proven programmer back from retirement that has people throwing up to $10k a pop at him to make the next Eve replacement? I am not taking a poke at PGI/IGP, just an observation.

BTW if IGP/PGI are paying attention to Star Citizen, then you will note that those devs frequently and regularly engage the player base with web casts, Q&A sessions, etc.

If you want that sort of capital flowing into your business, deliver what's promised, when you promise it. Listen to your player base. If adjustments are required, then make them in a manner that does not ruin the fun factor.

Compared to the Phoenix mechs, this is a terrible deal. At $80 I was able to get 4 hero mechs + 8 variants + 12 mech bays + 90 days premium time (and +30 days bonus time for 120 days total) + bonus items.

There is no $80 tier for the clans, but for $90 I could get the Thor package. That would get me 3 hero mechs + 6 variants + 9 mech bays + 30 days premium time (no bonus) and no additional items.

Did the clan invasion suddenly cause 50%+ inflation values?

Even if we look at the top tier, which is $240, we're getting a LOT less. You get 8 hero mechs + 16 variants + 24 mech bays + 90 days premium time (no bonus) + bonus items. So for 3 times the price of the highest Phoenix I get double the mechs and mech bays, but not double the premium time (in fact, it's 25% less since there's no bonus 30 days for early orders) and some extra bonus items.

Unless those items are really powerful, which would mean we're getting into P2W territory, this is just a complete ripoff compared to the Phoenix package.

Didn't read thru 18 pages but just wanted to make one point. You guys do know that clan mechs cost quite a bit more then innersphere mechs right? I mean a timberwolf costs 24 million cbills. When you think of it that way, $10 is about right. right?

So it is only $4240.00 for al "these" clan mechs (Including all the 'limited' edition GOLD mechs).

Why would they feel wrong? If you have the money and give $10,000 to make the game better why would you regret it?

I wanted to do a few calculations here.

First, some basic numbers. 1 MC = 2500 c-bills for mech pricing. Hero mechs cost 75 MC per ton. 250 MC costs 1 USD (at the 100 USD price point for best efficiency).

Each Clan mech is 10 USD regardless of weight. The cheapest pack is the Uller at 30 tons. As a Hero mech it should cost 2250 MC, or 9 USD. The other two variants, being non-Hero (no c-bill bonus), should be priced based on c-bill cost. Reversing the price conversion we find that they ought to run roughly 6,250,000 c-bills each. This price will hold true for all non-bonus variants (which is super low for most of them, considering they use expensive Clan tech and most are much heavier than the Uller.

The Daishi Hero, at 100 tons, should cost 7500 MC, or 30 USD just for the one variant. The other two variants will likely cost roughly 30 million c-bills, or 12,000 MC (nearly double the Hero price), which equals 48 USD. That makes the 10 USD per variant price point crazy low for the heavier mechs here. Really only the Uller and maybe the Puma are overpriced, the others are pretty much all way cheaper in the pack than they would be otherwise.

All this is aside from the 7200 MC in Mech Bays (or 28.8 USD) for the largest pack. Then you can factor in the premium time, which caps at 90 days and costs 7500 MC (if you buy 3 sets of 30; it'd be 6750 if you took half the 180 day pack), or 30 USD.

I don't feel like going through each and every mech, but all in all the package is super price efficient, especially as the total weight of the mechs increases and the number of ancillary benefits grows.

The real mystery has to be the Gold mechs, but those are obviously limited-edition vanity rides that are targeting a tiny portion of the player base. We don't know details, and the unique module and special warhorn could be meaningful. Until PGI releases more info we can't really judge them, but my guess is they will be vanity or convenience only.

TLDR - The package is very price efficient, and gets even more so the higher up you go on the tier list.

Price efficient would be valid IF and only IF we where talking about something that has actual value. Only PGI are saying that bundle of mb and .png is are magically worth 10$.
