Keep in mind, just because you had an idea, doesn't mean it was a good one.

But it is THEM making it!
So it is OBVIOUSLY the BEST idea EVAR!!!!!!

I can't figure out what everybody is so upset about. Nobody is making you buy anything. Everything shown will eventually be achievable in game for cbills. How does it hurt you if somebody out there is willing to drop $500 on a gold Kitfox? How is that worse than paying real money for "priority airstrikes"? In my opinion its the pay to win junk that has to go, not expensive cosmetics.

I dont think the prices are unreasonable. I have no issue spending $200 on a game. But im not gonna spend $200 on mechs I mostly dont want, that are all similar to eachother in hardpoints, and that I can mostly buy with cbills anyway. Worse yet is the fact theyre priced 50% more than the previous sale. A holiday money grab could be forgiven, but that thats just blatant price gouging and disrespect of your customer base.

People arnt upset because theyre being forced to buy something. People are upset because IGP/PGI have made it very difficult to spend money on their game, instead of just letting people pay an honest price to get exactly what they want. If people want a madcat, let them buy it for $30, dont make them spend $210. How many potential sales have they lost because they couldnt just sell madcats at a reasonable price?

I rarely post on these rage forums, but on this issue I absolutely feel the need to comment. After reading all of the comments thus far I feel I can not disagree with the majority of the posters. This feels like a wholesale cash grab, with the lack of any explanation of any of the bonuses, and the extremely crazy option for buying a gold mech for $500, what can I be left to think but this is a last ditch money grab from a floundering game. I have put so much money into this game all in the hope that at least CW would be implemented by now, but all we have gotten is new skins, and a few new maps. IMO this was a bad, bad, bad, call, putting this pre-order out now. PGI should have waiting until at least ui2.0 was released so we could see at least something that has been allegedly worked on that would be at least a step towards CW.

this is the third time they've asked for money upfront, when we're still waiting for stuff promised from project phoenix and stuff planned from founders pack days.

Gold Tamagotchi are much cheaper, and they also dance when they poop in front of you.
Please consider your options.

really loved the battletech franchise.. but really disappointed for the rights to be given to a bunch of DAS@#!. really greedy move, i cant think of another game charging $500 for a skin. if i know better they are money grabbing before closing the firm and running off with the cash. have spent around $100 which would have gotten me a collectors edition of any other game. and all i still see is 2 game modes 12vs12. the original batteltech rpg crescent hawks inception and mechwarrior 1 puts this game to shame with its gameplay and replayability.. so lame and so dissappointed with how this turned out.

It not just skin, but it costs a whopping 15,000 macaroons.

Here's my response PGI:

Despite being a founder and spending over a hundred dollars on this game, I haven't played for months. Understandably, my trust was destroyed a weeks back with the last major fiasco, but I was still stubbornly holding onto a small glimmer of hope that PGI might actually learn something and finally start delivering a quality game once given a little more time and effort.

Thank you PGI because with your latest and MOST BRAZEN money grab attempt to date, I have finally decided to move on and never look back. There is no way in hell I'd ever pay that much money for something with the track record that PGI has shown to date.

So I say good luck to whoever decides to cave in their scams! I'm sure you'll be happily pleased come 6 months from now when suddenly you don't get all the stuff you paid $240.00 for and instead are given another excuse. I bet they'll all be on summer vacation!

I've bought $10 games on Steam with more content. GG!

(PS: Anyone see my wall paper? Now there's a good dev team! ;))

Just want to let you guys know that when I saw the prices it actually pissed me off.

You do realize that you do not have to buy any of it, right? Or is PGI putting a gun to your head?

Agree. If people want a $500 mech, God bless them. Companies are within their rights to offer things that are expensive that not everyone wants.

Another stupid revelation. If PGI release clan mechs for cbills, (1 per month), at the rate you'll see Mad Cat will be for an extra year or two* (*given thier delay reputation). Really want to wait that long? No.

They always have, technically, it just didn't mean as very much before.

$500? Phooey I say.

The item pictured below may just look like "ham" to most of you, but do you know how much a leg of Jamón Ibérico de Bellota costs?

All I can say is "Yummy!". It really is a small piece of Heaven.
