I haven’t seen this much rage in the forums since the added 3rd person view.

This is wayyyyyyyy beyond that, and rightly so. Hello, go check out /r/mwo on reddit. [Redacted]

Frankly PGI screwed up huge, and this is ground zero.

EDIT - what the ??? Calling /r/mwo a bunch of cheerleaders is vulger?

I think a Dev post on where all this money's going needs to be posted as well...

20% for the cryengine f2p licence.
? % for the right owners of mechwarrior
? % for the right owners of some artwork/mechs

Whats left after that?

I think the cryengine and f2p have killed this game way before it has opend its gates for the players.

And 500000 for a single map sound extrem expensive, but thats another story ...

Niko, I have a feeling you'll be looking through all these thinking the usual "Man the forums are as toxic as normal, the usual complaining" - But please realise that in this case, you are making a huge, huge mistake in having such high prices with such minimal information, in a game where a lot of original pledged content is still not implimented.

You recently asked us how Community Managers could improve and help overall after that youtube video, well here is your chance. You need to pass on just what a detrimental and ridiculously overpriced "cashgrab" we are seeing this as.

Your player base right now is consisting of people who enjoy the game and Battletech fans, and I can't imagine you are getting many new players except through little word of mouth (and due to lack of tutorials *still*, they aren't going to be retained). So what has this "reveal" done? Angered your current players, and put off new players (if I showed one of my friends the price for how many mechs they get, they would literally laugh)

So please Niko, you need to pass this seriously onto whoever it is that is responsible for this and work for a solution quickly.

It's a joke. No UI2.0, no CW, no real gameplay updates since closed beta and now they want even more money and are relying on gullible clan-nerds to fund them?

I've stuck with MWO through the river of [redacted], I've defended it and I've stuck by it. But this is a damned slap in the face. The pricing, although obsene, is not even what's ticking me off. It's the fact that you add NOTHING to the game save for things that you KNOW people will buy on impulse. You, PGI, are fiddling with people's emotions and using their utter LOVE for the franchise to coerce money out of their pockets. I would EASILY put down the $240 if I had ANY confidence in getting CW and UI 2.0. Right now, what you're selling us is a bunch of vaporware. Promising us that we'll be able to use these mechs down the line in conflicts that will matter whilst knowing full well that you've already missed two deadlines, starting a year ago, as to when that conflict would come.

No, UI 2.0, No CW. No money from me, not only that, but as we speak, my corp is discussing this same issue and the consensus, even from the most die-hard PGI supporters is that this is an insult to us all. At least PRETEND that you're not just going for a money grab. In any case, out of 23 people online, none are buying it right now, I guess that's at least $2000 you're not getting until we see real and tangible progress. Once we see it and we're satisfied that we're investing in a game that has a future for us, we'll reconsider our position.

So will CW be released before the Clans or is this just a cash grab before IGP/PGI stop development?

You mean "will begin in over six months", right?

ha ha ha hahhahahhahhah. 40 a mech. I see last ditch effort to get players back.

Whoever came up with the idea to charge $500 for a mech to win players back should get fired.

I wonder, is the golden mech like the golden gun? One shot kills?

1) Exclusive Title, what?
2) What the [redacted] is a Warhorn?
3) What the [redacted] are these unique bonus module?
4) Badges? Are those just the same as the medal things?

I knew that it was sort of implied that they could try to sell GOLD PLATED MADCATS and people would buy them, but I never thought they would LITERALLY do it...

Everyone saying that its just $10/mech... no. Just listen for a second.

Of all the 'mechs they're offering, the ones I would want are the Nova and the Adder. To get the Novas, I have to pay $60. The fact that I also get 3 Kit Foxes doesn't mean anything to me because I don't want them and cannot choose to buy the Novas alone. To get 3 Adders (which comes with 3 Novas) I have to pay $150. The Kit Foxes, Summoners and Dire Wolfs mean nothing because, again, I do not want them.

So if I want Adders, its $150 or nothing. Which is $50 per mech. Taking into account the 3 Novas I'd get, that's $25 per mech.

I'd much rather pay $10/mech to just buy 3 Adders and 3 Novas and skip all the others. But not an option. Its $150 or bust.

I'm not a Clanner..but, I'm glad to see clans packs coming.

It'd be nice to have some more information on how the implementation is going to be done (given how OP clan tech was when it first showed up in lore).

re: Complaints about price point. I'll just point to the Star Citizen price points, and I know that there are quite a few MWO players who are also backers of that game (myself included). How many of you considered getting an Idris during the Anniversary/End of LTI sale?

(That said, yeah, I think $500 might be a tad high for a single Chassis)

All i can say is what a "Money Grab"! Hold onto your wallets. Ok, it's nice but there the "[redacted]" is community warfare. Where is knockdown. They are only out for our money and giving us shinnies to sidetrack us from the fact they are not producing any thing towards community warfare!

Ya, those look beautiful but why should ANYONE pump that much money into what's still a glorified deathmatch?

I love what this game can still potentially be, and REALLY want it to succeed, but the money grab to actual game progress ratio is WAY off.

Overview is lacking, the release time seems extremely premature, and the increase in prices per mech is suspect. Just exudes cash-grab over an actual product. Maybe the picture will change after you have CW and UI 2.0 running flawlessly before June, as that's the deadline you set for players to make a purchase.

They will likely end up changing their pricing or something...This is what will kill the game no new modes but by golly they can add more mechs for huge dollars. [redacted] these devs I'm done once I get a ps4 and a couple games, a lot cheaper in the long run compared to this pay to win game.

Then again maybe they think we are this stupid to buy these mechs at these prices. Sure some are but vast number will simply leave the game if we can never play these mechs I dont want to waste hundreds of hours to get a single clan mech.

It might not be far off that they are just doing this to get every dollar till they just say sorry lol were closing down thanks for the money! .i..

Niko most likely knows.

He has the unfortunate job of dealing with the fallout. Hell, my guess is every single non-marketing person on the PGI/IGP team know how exceptionally stupid this move was... but what can they do... say it publicly?
