I'm thinking PGI must be desperate for cash to ask for so much money 7 months in advance... beware paying for this stuff now they might be declaring bankruptcy after the New Year... and running off somewhere warm with your cash!

Merry Christmas! :)

I was thinking the same thing. This can't be good.

This really should have been announced AFTER implementation of Community Warfare, TDM and UI 2.0.

$500 for a Gold skin on one mech? No, just no

That is crowd funding, and is for a game that is not yet released, and won't be released until its released with the content it has promised to deliver.

MWO promised to deliver quite a lot while they themselves got crowd funding, and yet a lot of it is still not implimented. So your comparison to Star Citizen is deeply flawed

Crowdfunding = "Preselling items to fund project development"

This is the exact same thing. Just because the game is released, doesn't mean it doesn't still need funding for future content. There is no "rule" that says crowdfunding can't continue post release of a project.

This is going to go down in gaming history as the thing that trumped Oblivion's Horse Armor debacle, and made the most overpriced piece of vaporware ever--Star Citizen--look like a bargain by comparison.

8 prime, 16 standard....24 mechs total for $240. $10/mech. not bad.

That would be a valid point if we could tailor our own packages at $10/mech. But the way these packages are designed and priced...?

The way it is now, what these prices boil down to is this: "You want the Timber Wolf? That'll be $210, thank you."

And expecting players to dish out $500 for an "exclusive" package the content of which isn't even explained on the website that sells it...? That's just weird.

I'm a little curious as to what PGI's game plan is. (outside of making money.) No major changes have been made since closed beta, (other than pulling out mech collisions.) the UI is still... rough... to say the least, and things I (and everyone else apparently) have been waiting for like Community Warfare are nowhere to be found.

Will buying a Golden mech skip UI 2.0 and go right to the ultra high-tech (holographic) UI 3.0?
or will it finally add CW?

I want to give you folks at PGI support for trying to continue the MechWarrior lineage... but I'm confused as to where you guys are taking this game.

Edit:

Okay, I just figured everything out.

Paul is actually Maximilian Liao. Now EVERYTHING makes sense.

Imho the look of these Mechs is awesome (PGI as usual bcs you nail it almost all the time (The Look, not the Size...)).
But heck, i am glad to be an IS-Mechwarrior, the asked money is pure insanity - though i hope you find enough Clanners and Khans to make the game thrive.

You have not even produced a single thing you have promised players you were working on for months and now you are trying for a huge cash grab for the all so rare "clan mechs". You have got to be joking. This is fraudulent and scummy, I'd actually be ashamed of myself right now if I worked for PGI and had anything to do with this. You just released the phoenix package and have yet to release any kind of content in months that benefits players and has no monetary exchange. Having cockpit items disappear from tournament winners and doing nothing.....you people are a joke.

Bought it the second I saw it, I don't get the complaining about the prices. $240 for 24 mechs is $10 a mech, that's friggin steal!

I can understand the gripes about this before seeing CW or UI2.0 but whatever.. it's the Clans baby!

And Ditto what Pariah said, go go Clan Nova Cat.. love that Alpha Galaxy paint job on the Nova.. Can has please??

I also think it's a good deal as it was the Founder's or Phoenix Pack.. at least the Mech selling part.

About the gold mechs.. whoa i maybe tempted if there was the Vulture in, but yes to be fairly honest the gold mechs are overpriced...

P.S: i'm fairly tempted PGI may either be in desperate need of money or need to prove something to their investors.

I'm feeling really stupid for buying in on the Pheonix Package now. Well, maybe stupid isn't the word anxious is more accurate. I'm wondering: Are clan mechs going to be so much better then my Pheonix Package mechs that I just "wasted" my money on them? I can't understand your reasoning behind such high prices without any sort of info on how these are going to be incorporated into the game. What kind of role will The Clans play in community warfare? What's community warfare like at all? Will I be able to "upgrade" my existing mechs to be comparable? Will I be able to accomplish this task without spending even more cash? I want to buy all of them but; I don't even know what I'm getting, I don't know if my purchase will be made "obsolete" by your next major release. This announcement is really going to... annoy... a lot of people who have been supporting you for a long time.

When we buy things from you, like the Overlord pack, we're not just buying the mechs. We're making an investment in the game. We've seen VERY little return on our investments so far, and you just keep asking for more. At the very least, I need to know what I'm buying before you can sell it.

What is the problem with creating the code for CW? Join up with MW Tactics and get them to create your web based CW integrated with the launching of MWO maps and modes!

They obviously got the BT tactical side of things down, all they need is a basic planetary jump system. People would settle with a less than perfect board to just battle it out over territory.

If you really wanna keep milking all you can, why don't you start charging for CW? I think you would get far more bites with different content(Planetary Assault) together with the old types of content(maps/mechs). Just throwing everyone the same type of content with a half the world to fight with them on is just getting redundant.
