And you know how those weapons are going to work in practice? Please don't tell me you are basing that on that old post regarding them, this is PGI, that was their position at the time. Those weapons may be useless once PGI "balances" them.

Really? I know how they will work in practice because UAC/5, SSRM2, and ERPPC are already in the game...

The cockpit hitbox was reduced - so only the CT is a problem

Really? I never really noticed any change in difficulty to hit the head.

LOL, OK Do you mean how those weapons work now or how they used to work? Also you know that there will be absolutely no changes to any of them before the clans arrive? I don't know about you, maybe you're new here, but all those weapons have changed how they worked since I started and who knows if they will change before the clans arrive.

I have been playing since CB, and lurking since the announcement, for the record. Perhaps you should not automatically assume that I am new, quineg? Tell me, in what way has any of those weapons been changed that made it perform substantially worse than before?

If you've actually been here since closed beta and lurking since the announcement, I don't think you need me to pull out the timeline and make a total ass of you here in front of everybody.

I mean, if you do insist on making an ass of yourself, be my guest. How about a quick warm up? Do you remember a time when the SSRMs nailed your CT always with amazing cockpit shake, allowing you to core light mechs with impunity and stunlock heavier chassis that couldn't disengage? Don't pretend like the many adjustments to their direct damage, homing capability, their lock on mechanics, their splash radius, and the introduction of ECM did nothing to alter their deployment.

I'll let you either say "Hey, you might have a point, guy" to RG Notch or instead try really hard to spin your wheels telling us how reducing the splash radius of SSRMs to literally five centimeters did not reduce their effectiveness. Secretly, I'm hoping you choose to make an ass of yourself, because these forums benefit from a little levity.

Yep - before? (Dunno the date) the lower big window was the head hitbox...now you have to hit the upper window (because of the angle most shots will hit the lower window - i don't know if it is a change for high mounted weapons (shoulder cannon or JagerMechs) - but its not longer possible to execute a Catapult with the hip cannon of an Atlas by simple pressing the barrel into the head of the enemy catapult and fire (without aiming)

All of which are being nerfed to balance it to a 'Mech at most 5 tons heavier in IS terms.

Clantech is functionally equivalent to IS tech in MWO, not superior. This means tradeoffs for the lighter weight vs. IS versions will occur, as they have no other option

I have some questions that may have been asked before but I didn't find them.

If I purchase clan mechs in an account where I have already purchased IS mechs, how will loyalty be kept track of?

WIll the account have IS faction loyalty (or a merc group) for the IS mechs and a separate clan loyalty for the clan mechs?

Can I still play both at will without harming the other loyalty?

Will I be able to join two 'merc units' (or whatever they are being called) one for the IS side and one for the clan side?

If I can play both from one account, how is GXP going to be handled? For instance, will I be able to use accumulated GXP from IS mech play to upgrade my clan mechs?

Thanks for reading (and hopefully for not flaming).

No one knows how loyalty points are going to be handled, so we'll just have to wait and see.
As far as units are concerned we also don't know much. I figure you'll join one unit and use all your 'mechs to benefit that unit.
The same can be said for GXP, nothing has been explicitly stated. However, once again, I'm going to assume that GXP will function as it currently does, so you can use IS GXP on Clan 'mechs and viseversa

Anyone think the colors available through the April pre-order will be usable on all mechs, IS and Clan?

Having paid for an a la carte collection, is there any way to upgrade to a standard collection or gold or am I locked to only upgrading via the a la carte choices?

So? It is still equivalent to a 75 tonner that runs 86 kph and has jumpjets carrying a burst fire AC/20 along with an ERPPC and a homing SRM 6, quineg?

Last I heard this is how it will work:

Any IS players that owns a Clan package will have his Clan Omnimechs be treated as "salvage". But these omni-mechs will not be able to use IS tech so make sure you buy whatever Clan weaponry you think you'll need before CW hits because that is when they will restrict IS players and Clan tech.

I'm almost sure that colors have nothing to do with the mech being IS or Clan. It's just colors, applicable to any mech you own.

I can't recall exactly where I saw this answered before, but I believe that if you contact support@mwomercs.com they can assist with converting a la carte to a collection.

If Project Phoenix colors are any indication you'll be able to use the colors from the package on all your 'mechs.

Edit: There weren't any colors given out for April, however. Do you mean the camo from the social reward unlock? If so, that camo pattern will only be unlocked on your package 'mechs.

Come shoot me. I bought a Gold Mech. I got money to spare. DO I think I am getting value? Not really. If they through in some paint and most of all the previous cockpit items I guess it might come close but they really are robbing us. I am getting it because I want my account to essentially have a history to it where it started in Closed Beta and I got all the packages etc... its a personal thing.

THEY DO need to add more value to the Gold Packs. Maybe throw in a LOT more premium time say a year, or at least 6 months worth. Its not worth the money especially if you on a budget. I bought a gold fishing reel too last year. Cost nearly 200 more than equivalent standard modal. It is not real gold of course. The only thing it offers is a bit more corrosion resistance.

Sour grapes and crying cause its to expensive is silly and to threaten to kill and harass essentially anyone who gets it should get you a nice BAN from the game. Attacking a player just because they bought something you didn't is harassment plain and simple but hey bring I on brother but don't be surprised if its you picking up the pieces of your destroyed Mech and not me.

Pretty sure you can cancel it and repurchase if you cant find another way. I'd talk to support first though they may can help you.

And this is where PGI and the rest of the players stopped listening or caring about what you have to say. People were trying to get a message to PGI about the state of the entire game but when people come along and do stupid shit like this it undermines what the community is trying to do, so well done you. I hope you enjoy the big gold mech, you will stand out on the battle field and will be among the first targets of every match. This is of course if you can still find a match after the massive screw ups they have made in the last 3 days. Personally I think this game will be lucky to survive to Community Warfare and what it gets that is called Community Warfare will be nothing remotely close to what was promised all those months and years ago during closed Beta. The fact that it is still in the design phase should be a huge clue.

It has been suggested that MWO is stopping some people in PGI from advancing other projects and that if MWO were to die then they would be freed up to attend to those projects without the bother of this game. Maybe they are getting ready to do an expansion for Duke Nukem Forever?
