May I suggest a boycott on these purchases? Clans unite, no buyers, no sale.

Actually you can't, it's against the CoC and people wll buy what they perceive as "good enough" This whole debacle is ridiculous though

"We will make sure that Clan Tech does have a unique flavor when compared to InnerSphere Tech but not to the extent of everything just being over powered out of the gate."

The pricing is my gripe

I'm not worried about balancing them. I think they will be balanced. I'm worried that this kinda {Scrap} is exactly the same wheel we've all been on for nearly two years now.
PGI, "Let's sell a new pack to placate and excite them while we sit around with our thumbs up our butts and miss another deadline on CW and such"

This is great. Beating someone who's in a OP mech, and who paid $500 for the privilege, will be that much sweeter. And actually adds a bit of IS underdog flavor.

But the $ amounts on the announcement made me laugh.

and this is exactly what's wrong. Everyone harping and focusing on prices. F the prices. Where's the dam content, where's the rest of the dam game!?!!?!??!

Well my point was that by people willingly paying outrageous prices, PGI has absolutely no incentive to improve the game. How is UI 2.0 going to rake in thousands of dollars from suckers with more cash than sense? How is balancing weapons going to be monetized? If anything balancing weapons and mech will hurt income, because then the best choices won't always be the heavier (and more expensive) mechs.

The $500 is just for one special gold skin edition mech.
The $240 gets you 24 mechs it looks like. That's $10 a mech. Same ones as the gold skin one. Less bling.

So this is where they've been putting all the effort that could have gone into making the game more enjoyable to play. After all, how are they going to monetize quality-of-gameplay improvements, eh?

After all this time people still don't understand that mech designers are a different team then game designers

First off I agree the DEVS need to deliver on CW and should have occurred before this release. $210 to have my Mercenaries Timber Wolf Mech back is outrageous and I am sure I am not alone. The packs need to be broken apart and affordable if they are truly balanced (I debate that). The pricing is disappointingly outrageous. I can put a new rig together for that.

one reason i don't think they can do that. private matches. there's tons of tactics customers can use to express their displeasure but ranting about things that (at least in my opinion) aren't going to really be relevant is a good way to distract from the big issues like where the hell is the game we've been waiting on for nearly 2 years?

My approach to F2P is you can get $60 (the price of a game) from me. This $500 is plain stupid.

I understand that. I understand these were done before the other features. I'm pissed because this kind of {Scrap} doesn't need to be rushed or pushed before we get the rest of the game

You make me sad. Buying something so grossly overpriced is what's causing PGI to ignore gameplay improvements in favour of heavily-monetized packages. As long as people pay quadruple the price of a retail game for content that will need months of grinding to be competitive, PGI will continue to put actual improvements on the backburner, because obviously making the game itself better doesn't yield nearly the rewards that just making new models does.

Please stop telling PGI to not bother with actually improving the game.

Ya, you tell him! How dare he spend his hard earned money on something he loves? What gives him the gall? Common man.... Talk with your own wallet, stay out of our pockets

As one of the game's "Founders" I am perpetually reminded that money is the 'capitol' objective. I think the clans are awesome. However, when I paid 60 bucks for the FREE game to see it launched, that is what I did. Pay in hopes to see it launched.

What I did NOT pay to see was the game live in beta and push content releases before it is even launched. This game has to feature the most paid content IN A ******* BETA game ever! These content packages would be acceptable AFTER the game launched, and PGI delivered on the promises they issued when I backed the game as a founded originally.

The sad part is.... It already launched.....

I noticed there is nothing about weapons and if they are merely skins or are they all carrying clan tech! So right now we know nothing except there are clan skinned mechs, which will be here in JUNE and they want ALOT of money for them.

1. Are clan meks going to be unlockable via CB's?
2 Are clan weapons going to be introduced?
3. Is there EVER going to be CW?
4. Has PGI given up totally and now the clan packages are Pay to Win?
5. Is there going to be a seperate battles? Maps? CW( given it every gets here).

Can anyone answer any of these question or will it be the old PGI bait and switch?

I might have to buy the Daishi Collection.

Note to self: check account balance at the end of the month, buy Daishi Collection if account balance > 120 dollars.

First, the mechs need more than just their models done up. The gameplay team obviously would need to spend a lot of time and effort making sure the mechs work in the game, and there would have to be a lot of work in the balance department to keep them from being grossly overpowered. Sound team would have to come up with the idle sounds and movement sounds.

If they have a different hardpoint system (omni-hardpoints, for example), the UI team would have to be able to work that in.

This is a lot of investment from pretty much every department that could have gone into making the game we have better. And if people buy it, then PGI is continue to devote all resources to overpriced mechs at the expense of improving any other aspect of the game.
