It seems clear now that the Mechwarrior franchise has fallen into the hands of a money-hungry and money-grabbbing developers.
Well since you are making gold blingy Mechs available PGI - why not take it one step further and create a GOLD version of all the current mechs - that way no one will feel "blinged out".
Here are some ideas:
1. Gold ammo - will make you feel extra special and IMPROVE your aim every time you fire that AC20 round!
2. Gold cockpit decorations - why not? Extra bling is always more welcome
3. Gold camo's - bit like the Gold Cloths only for Mechs.
This is not Mechwarrior any more guys it's simply people utilising our beloved MW brand for a quick cash grabs - wherever and whenever they can!

No Clans before community warfare.

Well, if you're going to complain about a few hundred bucks, then what do you think of this?

No guys, this is what they'll do to sell! Guys, this is the best way to make cash! Sell Auto Aim™ systems! With Auto Aim™, you don't even need to use your mouse while playing this game! Your mech will always aim for the cockpit hitbox of the closest enemy mech!

You post that everywhere, but honestly, it means nothing. That game is not this game. That something else has a more ridiculous package available doesn't make PGI's deals any less ridiculous.
It's like the people who say that because there exist games with more grind than MWO, that means that MWO has no grind at all.
And to be honest, Star Citizen is at least a more unique idea. If it fails, odds are there won't be another game like it for a long time. If MWO fails, another developer will probably pick up the IP pretty quickly and we'll have a better game in development.

That's hardly accurate. Elite Dangerous, X rebirth, The new Eve (I forget the name of it), are just a few of the many space flight simulators coming out, or are already out. On the other hand, how many stompy mech PC games are there?
Sure, the cost is outrageous... but it's not like you have to buy it. All of the mechs will be available, eventually, for cbills, and there is not yet any indication that the gold mechs are any better than any others. Do we know enough yet to make that call in an honest way?
I've been playing the game now for about 18 months, and I must say that I'm still having fun playing, every weekend. So long as I'm still having fun, I'm okay. Am I happy that UI 2.0 is still not here? No. Am I happy that there is still no weight matching? No. Am I happy that there are still no collisions? No. Am I happy that there is still no CW? No. Am I still playing and enjoying the game? Yes, surprisingly enough. Am I willing to wait a little longer for the game to become what I want it to be? Yes again.
Do I think that the pricing is a bit much. Definitely. Still, we don't have to pay it if we don't want to. Truth be told, however, is that for ever person who doesn't click on the buy button, I'll wager that there are two who will.
So the mech is gold colored... BFD. That just means it'll be easier to target.
