My first Mechwarrior game was MW2: Mercenaries, as a result it's always IS for me.

Why would you NOT want to be in the clans, destroying wetnoses all through the galaxy.

Of course it depends on how they implement the clans, but my plan is to create a seperate free account (unless they allow us to have 2 pilots on the same account) and play both the clans and IS.

Well, I guess I'd switch over to Clan Wolf. I just hope I can keep my Marauder, if it is in the game at that time. It has just all the curves a Mech needs. :P But I have to admit, playing with the Adder or the good old Mad Cat would be nice too.

There is not a currency as such among the Clans AFAIK. In fact, Clan warriors find the concept insulting to get 'paid' like soldiers or mercenaries. It's a bit controversial since they are glorifying and despising their origins at the same time.
Honor, prestige, requisition, food, shelter, duty, tech or isorla could act as substitutes for such a concept if you are bent on finding similarities. It's a different culture with different rules to say the least. To judge them by Inner Sphere standards would not do them justice at all. Much less does it further understanding. Money is not the end all be all, least of all where Clans are concerned. Know thine enemy.

Money as I speak refers to the C Bill as it does to territory, production rights, and other such concepts of items that one person owns in the stead of another. Who you call your comrades or what specific set of societal standards you wish to push in the areas you control aside, it still all comes down the money or rather belongings. Whether those belongings are C-bills, a planet or system, the production know-how for a mech design... it's always a race for controlling the most 'stuff' rather than a push for a system in which all ways of life may be given to those who wish them over another. At the end of the day another house or another clan will want you dead for your money, your planet, territory, or your tech, It isn't about the lofty ideals touted by the heads of any groups, it's about control.

I put "depends," mainly depending on how the Clans are handled in terms of gameplay, how available Clan mechs are to the IS (I don't really want the uber-1337 tech per se, I just love the Omnis in general), and whether it's more fun to play AS the Clans or AGAINST them. I love the Clans in-universe, and if I play in an era when the Clans are available, there's at least an 85% chance I will play as them. But here it depends.

I get the some clan mechs. But I'm not going to just abandon my IS mechs. I play the mechs I like regardless where they are from.

I chose depends. Do you use clans in the Mechwarrior universe definition or in the MMO online gaming definition? If your using the MW term then it depends on the benefits of it. Online gaming probably not.

I will rejoin Clan Ghost Bear when they have entered into union with Rasalhague. And not a moment before.

I say let the Clans have more powerful equipment. Don't nerf the tech as a balance measure.

Just give them half as many mechs per battle, like they would "actually" have as a result of their bidding process.

We'll see how many true Clanners there are when they are outnumbered 2-1 every single time they drop.

(That would actually be more incentive for me to switch to the Clans).

I can't wait for the Clans to come. The whole reason I chose my Merc unit to work for House Steiner is simple. I know you guys are coming, and when you do, I want to kill as many of you test tube freaks as possible.

Fighting the Clans as a warrior for the Inner Sphere during the Clan Invasion is one of the greatest challenges a pilot could ask for. Why would I pass that up?

What I know of the clans does not entice me. Bigger more powerful mechs are kinda interesting. The weird code of honor, bizarre trials, and... interesting ideas about genetics and grammar less so. Dirty fightn' Inner Sphere politics for me.

Not really interested in the Clans. Their 'Mechs and weapons: yes, but the Clanners themselves: no.
