If they do, then I'll stay a Merc.
If I end up going by myself, I'll make the switch when it is open to me.

Even then, I won't switch but hope there is some sort of Isorla mechanic in the game and should I become a bondsmen I'd probably make the switch (preferably to the Jags.)

The original poster called Clanners "permamunchkins." I doubt that he intended for the comment to be taken all that seriously, so why should I have to respond sarcastically to a less than serious comment? Hence my comment about Clanners having no sense of humor.
Clantech has been munch since the beginning. BattleTech was always about a dirty and imperfect universe where 'Mechs ached and moaned from decades or even centuries of battle, but the Clans came in and altered far too much about the game. Munchkins could just start with better stats, better 'Mechs, better weapons, etc. MW2 made it worse by introducing people to "BattleTech" in an extremely watered down and noncanonical way.
Old purists may be outnumbered by the munchkins these days, but we can still comfort ourselves by calling you names and laughing more when you fail to have a sense of humor about it. It is what it is.

Besides: trade a mother for a MadCat...only a real insane person would do that

Give me a Thunder Hawk or a Nightstar and forget about Daishi and MadCat.
Freeborn an proud of it!

You mean you aren't dying to be part of Clan Hell's Ponies?

In all these years, I've never heard the term 'munchkin' until the last day or two. I've heard of people crying about the Clans before, but I still don't understand the point of trying so hard to offend other people who are here to enjoy the same game as you. The name-calling is pretty juvenile, and really isn't necessary.
Also, if you really can't stand the Clans, why are you spending this much time posting in the Clan forum?
