unlike other IS areas, I see few units recruiting here. Lots of posts, but no one recruiting.

What is up?

DISREGARD - its all in the top thread! Recruitment Kungsarme

Is that all of them? It still seems light compared to other factions.

Only a few units for the FRR, probably because it's a "new" faction in the grand scheme of things. A lot of the merc units around got started with the older MW games, where the FRR was just an anecdote like the Periphery nations. That said, I feel like the FRR is one of the larger factions, when it comes to individual players. I see most of the other faction symbols in groups, but it seems like FRR players are everywhere, in every game, scattered amongst the PUGs.

I'd say we are probably the smallest unit. You have to remember, we get wiped out almost thanks to the clans. Without the clans, many players would join the FRR and the DC.

We likely have the fewest total "aligned" players, and certainly the fewest affiliated factions.

But, we have mead.

So there.

Also, quite a few Clanners are currently repping FRR/Combine due to us being the closest thing to a Clan tag.

Also, historically speaking in canon, there are very few merc units in FRR to speak of.

Someone could think about representing a FRR army unit .. About me, they are one of my favourite factions.regardless of their upcoming stomping.. shh! Never mind. :)

The 5th Drakøns are a player-made addition to the Kungsarmé. We're not mercs, we operate with the rasalhague military.

We aren't one of the bigger factions...and not a big winner in the Clan Invasion. Very few people are badass enough to choose a side they know will ultimately lose. Especially when they're small.

It is only us few, we happy few.

the 1st Rasalhague Dragonregemente is a KungsArme owned merc-like unit. We only work for the KungsArme but have the freedom to work outside of what is right and proper. We give the space Vikings culpable deniability.

There's no FRR TS server either, which I think hurts the recruitment, and some of the units expect you to register just to try them out, rather than dropping in a TS server and just having a few games.

There isn't a centralised server, that's true. Most groups either have their own or have a section in the NGNG/ComStar servers.

The 5th Drakons don't expect any registration. If someone wants to join us they can just jump on our TS and drop with us.

^ Same for the 1st RDR. We have a section on the ComStar server.
We've had complete strangers show up on our channel and play with us.

We use raidcall.
Much to everyone's stunned annoyance.

Yeah, we've tried to get one going a few times. There was a brief moment when we tried using c3 back when it was first "implemented" (read those as derisive finger quotes). When this page ...

http://kungsarme.enjin.com/forum

... got started as the ostensible home for the FRR (mostly players not attached to a Merc Unit, but in the House army) there was another attempt at a centralized server, but it seemed most folks just popped up on the NGNG or ComStar TS servers, or were more interested in using Vent, Raidcall, or some other thing. Admittedly I haven't made a habit of logging in over there, though there seems to have been a little bit of recent activity.

Would be great to have a specific spot to go to. There used to be a thread somewhere with a list of voice servers, and one of the groups was offering space to people. I might have posted a link to it on the kungsarme site. OI course we can't all really agree on a client, the Merc groups have their own servers, and likely most of the folks who are clanners but insist on wearing our tag have clanner servers going as well.

That's pretty much what you need if you want solid recruitment, no problem with units using their own clients, but if the information isn't on the unit's website or they require an registration/application before even trying out, it puts people off (why would I apply to something, when I don't even know the people I will be playing with?).

As to Liquid Leopard I did not see any room for your unit on the NGNG server, also what timezone do you guys play in? I hardly ever see anyone in the Inner Sphere rooms there as it is. Do you use NGNG server exclusively? Or do you have your own TS address also?

1st RDR uses the ComStar server at na1.mech-connect.net
Most of us are in U.S. time zones, and play at night.

I don't know nuthin' 'bout no NGNG server. I didn't think we were using anything of theirs.

We're the FRR, baby!
We're not some fancy-dancey consolidated military command. Instead most our operational forces are controlled by semi-indepedent World Lords or Valdherre.

So all our units just do their own thing. Like true Rasalhagians!

I didn't see anyone from the 1st Rasalhague Hussars post a response so I thought I would and let you all know we're still an active group. You'll usually see a few of us on between 9pm to 3am EST. Feel free to visit us on http://1sthussars.ihostinghq.com/
Regardless of which ever group you decide to run with it's always good to see a new face ready to take up the cause for the FRR

Happy Hunting!
