and I quote

"But skipping the loyalty-building process to earn that kind of devotion, and putting massively expensive items on sale in a brand new game that is very much still a work in progress seems like an insult to the fans that have stuck by you." - a writer at forbes magazine

Pretty accurate. I think most of the loyalty around here involves the IP, not PGI.

Good article ... but will IGP listen doubt it ... they've had their heads up their own ***** this whole time leaving PGI to deal with this terrible business model they created.

It's not even just that the business model itself is horrible so much as the fact that they keep pushing out mechs to ask more and more money for without living up to the promises they've already laid out to complete and improve the core of the game. I bought a Phoenix pack, I was fully about to go buy a Firebrand on sale and then, hot damn... I read this {Scrap}. Money taken on empty promises is the only thing this company is interested in.

Should've just listened to my gut. I pretty much have never thrown money at F2P games but I've lightened up a bit lately and MWO is one of the few I've gotten onboard with. Not likely to happen again, here or elsewhere. It really is just a predatory and unreliable business model for people with too much disposable income and no concept of value for it. Live and learn I guess.

you can't really go wrong with DOTA 2. Hell, with their latest crafting recipes, I managed to get a new mythical courier by sacrificing mythical duplicates. In other words, their new crafting thing made me save (!) 10$

Lulz, let me know when a journalist reports in, not a blogger.

True. But the concept is that Founders don't have much visibility, cause this forum sometime seems like to be built to hide useful things.

Too many sections, too many crossposts... and your useful comments got abandoned somewhere...

As we have three threads about the forbes article, I'm closing the two smaller ones.

Please continue your discussion in the remaining one. Thank you!
