deathmatches are coming. Private matches are way way off. Now is not a good time to stop development.

Yeah, and a year and a half ago it sounded very much like MWO would be that good BATTLETECH game. So much so that I gave them $120 sight unseen just on the off-chance they might pull it off.

For a while now it has become increasingly clear that they couldn't, and can't. They just don't seem to know what the hell they're doing, and don't have the moxie to go back and change the things that need changing for it to become that good BattleTech game they (and we!) once dreamt of.

Fix the heat system.
Fix the instant-hit weapons.
Fix the hit registration.
Deliver role warfare.
Deliver community warfare.

THEN, you can deliver Clans.

I just want a good BattleTech game like you promised. Please try to make MWO that game.

You have no idea how they make video games do you?

Focus? Ummm, yeah, and how do you expect them to do that? 'Not make Clan mechs' is probably you're incredibly short-sighted reply.

Why 'short-sighted'? Think about it. How many people does PGI have on staff? 40 or so people I remember hearing. And what do they do? Lots of things. Some are game designers, who figure out how the systems are going to work. A number are programmers who actually write the software to make everything work. Then, you've got Concept Artists (ie Alex). 2D Artists who work on the skins and textures. 3D artists how take the concept art and turn it into Mechs and Maps and Models. Probably others as well, but those are the key ones.

Now, who is working on CW? Well, that's largely game play, so Designers and Coders. If they were to just 'focus' on this it'd leave a lot of artists sitting around with their thumbs where the sun don't shine. So PGI could fire them all while they're just 'focusing' on CW and hire more Coders right? Well, that's a great company policy and it'll never get around to other artists that once you're done you're project, you're kicked to the curb.

I mean, there's also all those useless bug fixes. I mean, who really needs that? Just have all those guys drop what they're doing and start working on CW. Genius, right? Well, the fact that there's the 'too many cooks in the kitchen' idea in that just pouring more resources on to a project isn't going to create conflicts or anything. Not to mention the idea that the new people would have to come in and learn how things are currently working in a new project. It's not as if half of good coding is commenting everything so that people know what the %$@# the person that wrote the code was thinking, because, hey, all programmers think exactly the same way and there's only one 'right' way of getting something done.

Or they could, you know, effectively manage their time, have those that are debugging and solving problems work on handling errors that do eventually need fixing or working on DX11 or UI2.0. Get out of the hair of the CW guys and let them get their work done, and have the artists work on other assets, like say, Clan Mechs, which need to be done eventually.

A clarification.

Its Infinite Games Publishing (IGP) that has there hands in both MWO and MWT, not PGI.

PGI is only making MWO, they are the developers, not the marketers. They make the stuff, IGP markets it and is mostly to blame for this whole clan debacle.
