Right now I'm waiting for this game to tank and to have another developer pick up the IP.

My guesstimate would be that MWO will keep on going for another 11/2 to 2 years before it finally gets shut down.

I think so too... but you know we are on an island.... and PGIs PR staff is on another too.
Or in other words - joking on the internet is a two edged sword - it highly possible that your joke will hit a open wound.
Regarding the overall feedback of the Clan packages...(really why a package) - wasn't the overlord enough?
Wouldn't it have been better to wait for another 4months - before relasing the package?
Wouldn't it have been better to wait until CW and UI2.0 and some sneak peaks for the clans until the package was anounced?

So wrong timing and wrong execution - a debacle - i really hope that some heads will roll

Haha so true. Just ask the guys working in apple's marketing department what they think about the hordes of idiots that pay double just because of that bitten apple on the back of their hardware ...

I think this is a last attempt from PGI to grab some cash before this game starts to depreciate and die. For those who are disappointed and feel like this game is not meeting their expectations, you can simply quit. PGI got nothing to lose, they can even shutdown and reopen under a new name and you can do nothing to get your money back unfortunately..

This is the assumption me and some players here are starting to get. The game made them money and the nature of their products and progress is pretty much messy and rushed.

The definition of scam is asking for money in return of a product or service and not providing that product or service. I find it stupid how some people moan and complain about this game but some of them have got a very valid point by now.

OP, they only way you will get the MechWarrior game you want, is when PGI/IGP shut the doors and the IP gets picked up by a better Developer. You will see a message from PGI that they are bankrupt before they release CW. Let MWO die--it's the only way for MechWarrior IP to evolve.

Nah. They'll do something ridiculous like "Track victories based on house" and call it CW. Basically, every win you get will get your selected house 1/12th of a point.

And there will totally be a leaderboard of some kind.

There you go, CW delivered as promised (adjusted for reality).

one thing that really bugs me - the clans broke the balance in tabletop battletech in 1989. after that everyone went on to "3rd level tech", which effectively ruined it.
is there a way to e.g. enforce "level 1 (aka 3025 tech)" and "level 2 (3050 tech)" and e.g. inner sphere only matches ?
im pretty tired of the clan-tech {Scrap}, first of all it devaluates the pay-mechs you buy and second everyone going to end up running clan mechs, so you could just call it "mwoclans" then... i rather have more maps then clan mechs, and if i got to choose the more mechs, i had a wishlist:
flea, clint, vulcan, firestarter, panther, urbanmech, crab, dervish, tomahawk, valkyrie, warhammer, marauder (75t), kingcrab, mackie.

also, due to camo patterns and terrain - can ge get some way to choose patterns or to say "this pattern only on this map" ?

Oh, don't worry, I'm sure that PGI will be able to balance things successfully.

(Hahahahahaah)

But seriously, just wait until we get Clan mechs as MC-only. There's your official P2W (though I bet we'll get an ECM hero mech before that).

Why even worry about it? there's a 90% probability that the game won't MAKE IT to June 17th, so all worries about balancing clan vs IS tech are moot.

I'd LOVE to be wrong, but like a lot of other people I can't ignore the writing currently on the wall.

We'll be lucky to see this game into Feb. at this point.

Development costs money...keeping servers alive not so much.

So the question is, when they start laying people off will the public find out about it? That'll be your A#1 indicator. Or look for "reorganization" that everyone is REALLY excited about.

Then hold them accountable. You have obviously reached that point.

I will continue to support them as long as they deliver (what is to me anyway) a fun game to play. The moment something changes to make it not fun to play (whether it's a change they make or a change in my own play preferences), I will no longer buy anything.

Except they haven't delivered, how many months has UI 2.0 been just round the corner? Or Phase one of CW? I'm not saying the game isn't fun to play, but at some point, if people just continue to hand over money every time PGI says NEW MECH PACKAGE PREORDER! You're allowing them to not put any actual work into delivering the meat of the content we expected a year ago now when the game went live with the softest launch ever. Hell at this point they may as well put the beta tag back on it.

love the guy who responds to "i don't have a match history option so i can see what happened after i quit a match" with "you should screen shot the final screen in every match then"

awesome reading comprehension, you should apply for a job with PGI asap

this game is in a death spiral, the only thing that's going to save it is a butt load of content and a new attitude from the devs, right now. Eve was around for 10 years before they pulled their "No content for a year while we work on things no one cares about" routine and it still almost destroyed the game. These jokers started it on day one and are still doing it

the more people uninstall over these $500 mechs, and alot of people are, the less likely it will be that this game retains a minimum viable player base.

This. Come on PGI/IGP. I really want this game to stay alive, and all you did was **** off the player base with the gold mechs. Putting the Clans up for sale out of the blue was a very transparent cash grab. People said it about Phoenix, and I didn't believe it. I bought Overlord... but the timing of this is a PR nightmare.

The only way to fix this is to release CW and UI2.0 right damn now. That'll calm down the angry folks who are ready to quit, because all we want is the game we were promised.

Make this right. Please.

/and fix the Quickdraw's hitboxes while you're at it.

All you people who say buying stuff will help the game keep going. Here is the thing.

It is up to PGI to make a game that people will put money into.

You putting money into something and saying I gave you cash for pretties. Now make me something to use them on is just them laughing to the bank.

You just bought pretties. What you paid for is pretties. You did not finance game development. You did not buy an investment guarantee. You did not buy stock. You did not buy the IP.

You bought pretties. That is ALL.

Nowhere in any of the pretty buying did they guarantee you anything other than you will get the pretty.

Think that over.

Meanwhile what you get is what they decide is worth getting done for them. And if that means making pretties and forget the rest because that is their paycheck. Then that is what you get. The bottom line is money for them. Nothing else.

Would you do all the code and design for nothing?

i regret not pushing for a refund. Now, i am just waiting for this to die so that maybe just maybe a better dev than IGP and PGI would actually produce a better game. You can imagine how much money if someone like me was willing to spend if the product was not something cobbled blandly together like a mashup from X Factor or something.

Game needs VOIP - seriously don't give a rats to the other 'features' that are missing in the game, VOIP allows players to actually play like a team. Don't forget to add a mute function too when you get round to adding VOIP!
