Star citizen.. Lemme tell you. One can get lost on the star citizen website in all the awesome.
Just listening to chris roberts is enjoyable.. and we have...... well what we have.
If they were making OUR game, there could be 10000 dollar items and no one would blink an eye, just like no one is blinking an eye over at SC.
what our obtuse WK's dont realize is most of us want the game to succeed despite our devs.
We just dont like our devs.. and I for one, dont blame them.
Sure its personal, but what isnt..
Its not their fault they have no communication or interpersonal skills, but thats the way it is.
its kinda their fault that theres probably not a pilot in the whole lot. Not helpful making a game.
oh whats the point. ?
well, mektek and mwll both seemed to be more competent and much more likeable than our devs..
thats an issue.
For a game in 2013, the game is woefully incomplete.. And im talking what we have NOW>
terrain, collisions, level design.. audio.. theres lots missing from the CORE>.
a quick look at their completely wacked roadmap percentage indicator shows we are barely standing on one of four pillars pitched to us .. years ago..
Yeah, i play. yeah i enjoy it, skirmish is nice.. but hell it IS a step back, so far, from what i played years ago.. certainly NOT what i anticipated a PRO team doing with battletech compared to the great mod mwll.

No, they aren't.
When they miss it again (i.e. it gets moved to Q2 2014), the goalposts will have moved.
It was their position at the time though. Hypocrisy at its finest.
You see like a bit of a plank doing the typical "urrrrr but star citizen does it!!"
Star Citizens dogfighting module was always known to be a stopgap solution and would ultimately be thrown away, why waste time creating a temporary server arcitecture which ultimately will be replaced by the main system? why not just invest more time in creating the actual product instead, rather than the module that was aimed to pull in more players because they weren't expecting the success that they got.
Go on, start comparing the price of the clan mechs compared to the constellation in star citizen, I dare you.

The Constellation is $225
The Masakari pack is $240
There I compared them. Now what????

No, you put them in sentences next to each other with prices.
That is not a comparison.
Personally, I find SC's prices to be as egregiously overboard as well; but I think the comparison in what one actually gets with a given purchase between the two games would show that there seems more "value" in SC's ships than in MWO's mechs.
That is, naturally, an opinion based on what I know.

How can you judge the value of Star Citizen packages when there is absolutely zero information to judge whether they are a good deal or not?
The only thing you're doing in buying ships in Star Citizen is supporting the development of the game. Until they start working on balance, the ships have no value at all. That $5000 Idris cruiser may be the Space Hindenburg of the public universe.

Let me do this for you.....
How can you judge the value of MWO Clan packages when there is absolutely zero information to judge whether they are a good deal or not?
The only thing you're doing in buying Clan Mechs is supporting the development of the game. Until they start working on balance, the Mechs have no value at all. That $500 Golden Mech may be the Land Hindenburg of the public universe.
Now how does that sound.....

Good point. Star Citizen and MWO packages are completely fair game for comparisons. They are not too expensive or a good value. They are either worth it or not to each individual customer.
See? That was an easy!

So easy! Now who wants to wager that there will be more "individual customers" interested in buying from MW:O versus Star Citizen? This is what the game developers are likely to be focused on.

It means we are going to be stuck waiting for 6+ months to see every mech delivered for c-bills. Gold skin is just stupid it brakes immersion its like suddenly you see pony mech, also I heard prices reflect in game c-bill value what does that mean for balance ? If they are balanced why would they cost so much ? Too many unanswered question. Its hard to say who dictate those priorities IGP or PGI ?

This is true; but look at things like lifetime insurance and such. There is more to those packages than "Ooh, shiny spaceship of unknown capabilities and/or structural integrity!"
I am 100% with you on SC not having a lot of information on balance so far. And that is why I stopped going in on SC after my initial $45. MWO has made me really, really gun-shy about pre-orders and crowdfunding.

I'd also be willing to bet if chris roberts had the Battletech license we wouldn't have to put up with the joke of a game we have now.
But PGI will continue to get my money because I love battletech and I want a good MW game so bad. It just makes me sad that PGI has the license to it now.

Everyone is so quick to defend a game that doesn't even exist yet. Is it even possible for SC to live up to expectations when it's actually released? I hope I'm wrong but I'd wager a lot of people are going to be really disappointed, it's promising too much.

Depends entirely on how the delays are communicated.
We understand delays.
Just not delays that are only explained post-mortem, where we then find out that assurances made previously COULD NOT BE @#$%ING TRUE given the license situation and THEIR OWN ADMISSION that little work was occuring with CW and such.
How many times did they say CW was just around the corner only for us to find not a single line of code has or could have been written for it, and it is clear they have no more real information on it than they did at the time of the Founder's package?
"Busy, Busy, Busy."

It's also the fact that generally no one trusts them to actually accomplish anything anymore at this point, so paying astronomical prices for little to no development is like someone {LT-MOB-25} slapping your wife at a Christmas party.

Uhm...PGI was "only" responsible for the multiplayer of Duke Nukem Forever.
Nevertheless, while you indeed cannot compare MWO to Star Citizen now (and maybe never ever) there is one striking similiarity. Look at the SC forums now, its a fun place to be, with a lot of excitement and anticipation. Thats exactly how the MWO forum was like about two years ago (before the game was released). And then the sh... hit the fan.
