Last thread archived without explanation, so asking again. Why do, after release, Fast afire and pinpoint do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING? They aren't even mentioned in any Dev updates, yet you can pay real money to buy them through xp conversion.

At least rename them to PLACEHOLDER until they do something? Instead of lying on the description? When will this be addressed or even acknowledged?

THIS IS HALF OF THE TIER TWO TWO SKILLS, and fixing them would have profound impacts on gameplay balance.

Fast fire does something, it triggered ghost heat with AC2s before they changed the fire rate to .52.

Well, I wouldn't mind disabling the rest of them until UI 2.0 comes out, so that all of that can get redone with a better system.

They do something... they double your basic efficiencies after you get them ;)

Seriously though, the pilot trees went from "placeholder" to "permanent", and I really wish that had gotten some attention at some point, but I honestly can't think of a time when PGI had the resources to do so. Maybe someday™.

Pin point used to do something. now its just an xp sink. it's your choice to use money to convert and click it instead of grinding out the xp. That's the quality of life choice with micro transactions. grind or pay.

Should something useful be substituted. yes, is it needed... no.
is it in PGI's interest to not fix it... sure. is it on the list. i think so but its in the bottom ten.

As with SRM fixing these issues will likely have to wait until after CW. Because you know, 2 years is not enough time to have these issues ironed out.

This....then, in infinte wisdom, convergence delay was changed to instantaneous.

i think the skill still work's, but is reduced to instant +10% or no meaningful benefit other then an xp sink for PGI.

Weapons values have never been changed before, bro! It has to wait until after UI 2.0 launches (Spring 2013), because of bottlenecks.

You see, UI 2.0 finally enables XML editing.

Agreed that its a joke that these are in as high end xp spend objects and do nothing of value. Not sure what to replace them with though? Most of the other mechanics of a mech are already buffed by the other xp unlocks (showing just what a shallow game this has become)

Best I could come up with was some sort of jumpjet boost, or maybe an ams boost, but those are not applicable to all mechs.

Beyond that the only other things to look at are things like weapon ranges and damage drop off, which really is somewhere that shouldn't be ventured at the current time.

Would maybe suggest an unlock that allows you to use Lamellor armour (conferring laser damage reduction), but that's out of timeline.
