Some Constructiv Feedback On The 500$ Golden Mech

A fan would buy the big collection (Masakari) before he the golden mechs, so technicaly its 500$ for a golden Skin. The 500$ mark is for me more like the buy all mark.
My idea is, if the golden Mech would come along with the Masakari collection plus next 8 clan mechs in 3 variants released after the clan start, perhaps some fanboys will buy it. At least it would fit into your 10$ per mech marketing. It´s still a big investment where you get your stuff in a year or two, but at least it would be some substance behind it and not just a golden skin.
I am no claner, but as a custumer, i care for your marketing. You have high costs, but are also serious free to play. thats ok and fair for me.
So please you can do better than offer something that smells like a fanboy rip off.

Not sure which is more immersion-breaking: gold mechs or inability to knock down trees and other environmental effects.

I do however think that (from a game revenue perspective) the price of the first gold mech should include the Masakari clan mech collection as well. (So that the premium for the gold mech is $260.00) ... I wouldn't buy it either way but I suspect that a larger fraction of the folks willing to pay $240.00 for the full clan mech pack would be more tempted by an additional $260.00 for a gold mech rather than an extra $500.00. Mostly because it would tend to feel like a "better deal" than it is right now.
On the other hand, increased sales would help revenue but might reduce the exclusivity of the mechs.
Finally, if folks wanted to purchase more than one gold mech ... then the additional ones could be sold for $500.00 each ... just the first one purchased would include the clan mech pack.

Now all the impatience and bile that they've been holding back is manifesting as outright hatred for the gold mechs. Even the people like myself who realize that the people who are creating mechs can't be redirected to things like UI 2.0 or CW or HSR improvements due to different skill sets can't help but lose faith after seeing something like a $500 mech pops up. It makes us question their goals, their direction and their loyalty to the players.
That said, I think those planning to TK other players who show up in a gold mech should think about it and relax a bit. Let the other team handle the sparkle targets (and you know they will). It's not worth a personal ban because you disagree with how someone else decided to throw their cash around.

the problem is, that if the fanboy deal is such just a contribution, but the deal is so bad most people would think:
Is this guy stupid to pay 500$ just to have a golden mech. Just think of church, when they collect money someone drops 500$ in the bucket and gets a golden hat... so very one knows he just spendet 500$. and yeah it´s limited edition.
our fanboys don´t deserve, that the other players laugh at them... so every deal has to be reasonable... even when it´s just for fanboys.

If the gold paint was $10 to paint ONE mech, everyone would do it because it's $10. I bet you people wouldn't have as much of an issue with it. As soon as you put it out of some people's price range, the nerd rage happens. I would like to know how it affects the game play with a person who buys one with his own money for a vanity item. People who want to TK or leg people because they bought one are irrational people who think this is a cool fad to grief people. It's like people who will key a Ferrari because they don't have one.

i agree, 10$ golden paint would be no special deal, but if it´s 500$, it should be more than just paint, backed with ingame stuff. you have to get the full car, and not just the horse logo, right?
I mean 500$ spending on one game is huge, and not many will do it.
Spending 500$ on golden paint? Thats like jack from borderlands 2 with his pony. It looks just stupid. Even when you just want to show your pashion for this game, does not make sense... better by 1000 hours premiumtime to support them...
When you spend 500$ on the megadeal, with a lot of stuff and a golden mech on top, you are not seen as just the rich guy, but as a true fan, who found the biigest deal worth it...
thats my point. 500$ ist ok, but it neads substance.

because everyone knows it is going to be far more than just a skin - they always are. For 500 I expect a hell of a lot more than a 30 mech with a 10 dollar paint job and pgi better deliver if they ever plan to sell them again.
It will be p2w 100%
so they backed tracked now wow. Here is an IDEA. Pull the clan pages/sale until you figure out what you are selling FFS.
This is amateur hour here.
And since they are all wonderful I hope you have purchased your golden mechs all of since they are of substantial value and blessed Russ and anointed him for listening to the "people" correct?
No it speaks volumes to what the community has had to put up with on order to get what has been promised to them. There is a large difference -
had he actually delivered what he said he would in the time frame none of this would be an issue. But he lied and held back the game going full tilt on making money in case he didnt get the license. the clans would have been the last kick at the can. But now the game is 2 years behind in development but that is ok we have gold mechs.
great job sandpit everything is ok now and russ is all great and powerful and can do no wrong. Amazing how your tone changed after been thrown a little bone. the past is gone all hail the new king

Such a noble mind... How much do you spend in Founders/Phoenix Pack? And in the game? And what for your computer? Your car? House's decorations?
Now take all those expenses you're constantly making for things that have no meanings except giving you some distractions...
Thousands of peoples die from starving everyday, what are you doing for them? Complain on MW:O Forums while spending enough money to feed a hundred starving mouths???
This world need so much guys like you! Now just go back to hell, please.

We still got mods around here somewhere....
I think..
EDIT: By the bye, despite the fact that many of you have dismissed this as one of "those" threads, the OP wasn't complaining about the gold skins or hating or planning to grief, but was actually suggesting the exact thing that PGI has finally done. (Gold + Masakari).
Seems like a lot of folks responded without reading first.

They "backtracked" because the community asked for and suggested the exact package deals you're getting now. Some people will just never be happy. They did EXACTLY what the community asked for
