What are the chances that the poor fools who spend that much for a gold mech will simply find themselves to be the go to target...even by their own team? Not only would it stand out like a sore thumb (assuming you keep the gold paint) but it would also mark you as a total tool in need of schooling.

Or so it would seem to me.

As I said before, if it's me buying one (which I won't $500 is out of my price range atm), I would just keep reporting those fools till they get banned. Maybe I would be doing them a favor.

Could make them immune to (un)Friendly Fire?

People floated a similar argument when the YLW came out. It didn't happen.

I find it very hard to believe that any significant portion of the player base would care that a few people have gold clan mechs, let alone care enough to risk a ban.

Ha ha, that's great! Maybe that's what the unique module is for, immunity from teammates fire ie "douche protection module".

The only danger I see for the golden skin comes from salty tears.

All talk and nothing else. I suppose some IS scum might try to TK a Gold clan mech out of jealousy, but thats about it. Mostly kdding though I dont think there will be much team killing.

I would never shoot such a person, as you see i am in need of help from them. I happen to be a very wealthy diplomat from Nigeria. And if they send a simple check of 2000 dollars, or 4 gold mech skins, i will pay them back with a 400% interest rate.

Why would anyone who isn't an immature 9 year old do something like this?

I'll just leg it. I could buy one if I wanted but I'm not that desperate for attention. On one hand it's a handy extra armor. Not likely to shoot you if you are right beside it. I'd just laugh at the ***** for getting the stupid thing.

As far as gold on the other team. No different in what determines the target priority's now.

As far as Tking. I will help report Tkers same as I do now. If you are going to TK someone for helping pay expenses to move this game forward you belong somewhere else plane and simple!

I did not get one cant afford it. THANK you to the ones who did get one!

Don't get me wrong...I'm not advocating TK nor do I practice it. I hate the practice and tend to report any intentional TKers when I run across them. For me, I'd mainly be in the "look at the big shiny gold target" camp.

Maybe thats what the unique Module is.
Reflector: Reflects Energy and Ballistic weapons on a 180 degree angle. Red Team weapons are too strong for this Module.

to me and most people i know the goldies will not be anything more than a great laughter when ever we see one, so what ever... i don´t really care about ppl buying those, but it has a slight "taste of stupid" to me however...

as someone said above: same was going on in the forums about the YLW, many were b++ching about them and called TK´s on them... a few tried it, got reported and/or other players (like me) killed THEM before they could do any serious harm to the poor YLW pilots :) , because teamkillers will not be tolerated, for no matter what reason... emergency relief is always legit

Gold will not "decompose" in salt water. In fact, salt (or sea) water will not affect gold in any way, no matter how long the gold is exposed to it. Not only is gold unaffected by salt water, it is also totally unaffected by most strong acids. The only thing that will attack gold at normal temperatures is "Aqua Regia", which is mixture of 1 part concentrated nitric acid, to 3 parts concentrated hydrochloric acid. Gold will slowly dissolve in this mixture, but is unaffected by just pure nitric acid or pure hydrochloric acid (or any other common acid).

But ... By killing the Tker, you would become a TKer yourself! XD

as i said: emergency relief is always legit... it´s helping a team mate against an offending action...

(maybe i mean "defence of another person" or 3rd party defence... not my native language :) )

I was kidding.
I defended a few YLWs back in the day. Was particularly hilarious when an Atlas announced he would kill the YLW while we were powering up, so we all turned on him and waited for the lasers, soon as he fired a shot, we took off both his arms. Left his Torso untouched and had him run around as a weaponless decoy XD
