Have we gone back to the age of bow an arrow? I mean really, the guass sounds a lot like those spring loaded dollar store ping pong ball launchers. Nevermind that the gauss rifles lacks any justifiable tone to tell you its fully charged, the lack of weapon cues makes the weapon unduly weak.

I go by the little light on the aiming ret. took me 3-4 practice runs on the test grounds to get the feel of it, but now I can hit a moving spider without much issue (as long as the hit registers lol) I highly recommend using the light rather than listening for the wind up.

Gauss is still good... A reduction of Cool down by 1 Secs would make it very deadly... Because the 4 sec cool down + recharging + aiming is what kills gauss at close range. Not enough DPS

To my dismay, I dropped with my guass K2 and discovered that I had a horrible time trying to shoot the guns because of their new sounds. Really poor conveyance (though they sound neat). I would like something similar to what we had before.

Use the 6 little boxes that circle your reticle. They represent weapon groups and highlight when the respective weapon group is used. With a Gauss Rifle you can see the box it is assigned to change color when it is ready without the need for sound. I personally never use those weapon group boxes and rather remove them along with a lot of other things from the UI if I could but they do help manage the Gauss Rifle nerf.

Or after all this training you could just download a macro.
I don't use them at all because i no problem with the Gauss rifles.

Works totally fine for me as a sniper weapon at medium/long range, got a fewlight kills at close range as well. Charge systems gives the weapon a different flavor and has reduced it from being an all round weapons which I think is a good thing. Requires some skill and practice and is exciting to master. I like it!

I know of someone who made a functioning concept rail gun for a gov grant. This item took charging capacitors for a few hours on a low charge and a partial blackout for 15 min to get the thing to work. Getting the magnetic to be strong enough to lauch objects requires a momentary output well above what small thermal plant can produce in one shot. Thus you need to siphon some. So PGI made the more realistic as the solution.
But realism in a giant space mech..... I personally do not use the Gause as it does not work how I want it to. Though I do like how I am not getting plinked too fast anymore. The gun was way too strong and it still is. But it is such a pain to use I rarely see them.
