It seems that since the new patch hit on the 17th my AMS has been much quieter on all maps, not only HPG (where sound is muffled anyways). Has anybody else noticed?

One of my favorite things about AMS was the noise it made shooting down missiles, rapid fire dakka dakka! This has the added benefit of letting me know that 1.5 tons of equipment I brought is helping me and/or the team.

Please return the AMS volume to what it was pre-patch so I can enjoy the sweet sweet dakka.

Thanks

AMS and other things. The external sound muffling tech developed for Manifold is triggering on other maps as well. If you listen carefully, AMS is audible -- just barely. Not sure what the pattern is or which specific effects are affected. Frankly finding that out is Q&A's job.

The sound has extremely practical uses as well. The delay between the spoken warning and the dakka tells me range to the missile threat. The duration of dakka tells me the type of incoming LRM salvo. Finally I don't want to look at my ammo counter while in intense combat. Just listening the number of fired rounds was quite helpful.

Yep, totally agree with op. Actually I hope Mechwarrior has different volume controls for weapons fire and music and background like engine noise and ams. This is an opportunity really, to lead the game world in audio controls. :D Yes maybe a minor victory but something super important really. No game I have played has had such detailed audio controls, really taking away from alot of games. I think Mechwarrior is among the top simulation games already.
