Hi guys, it's my first post on the forums and I would like to have some advice on my build ? It's really fun to play and I wanted to know if it could be optimized. The catch is that I love LPLas and that I don't know how to run cool with them. My build seems to do so but maybe it can be improved ?

I suspect you know that LPLs are inferior to LLs/ERLLs, so I will not touch that. I would not mind some backup streaks and less back armor, though.

Not sure if thats how you actually run your armor but hes right, less rear armor. I have also been running ballistic/energy only DDCs recently and really like it. The LPLs in your build are superior to LL because your doing more damage faster and have the heatsinks to back them up. You dont have great range but thats clearly not what your going for, you have speed. Looks to be a good striker atlas. Streaks arent really neccessay on this build because LPLs and AC20 shold make short work on any light mechs.

Even if you have been getting circle-strafed or backshot too often 16 armor in the back is uncommonly high and you're way over that. You'll be taking fire primarily in the center front and right front torso.

+1, aside from armor allocation (which I'm guessing is Smurfy default?), it's fine. You'll need long range support, since an Atlas is too slow to pick it's engagement range, really. Which is why many will espouse the ERL's over the Lpulse, go ahead and play a goodly number of matches with it and see if its a handicap for you. If you can leverage the ECM to get you into range, just go with it.
I have this exact same loadout on one of my Victors, and on that Chassis it really shines, however with an XL360 and jump jets, you can determine the where and when much better than in an Atlas, can't soak damage near as well of course.
In my mind, the LrgPulse comes into it's own in pairs. 14 tons gets you 5 pinpoint damage per wub, if you can cope with the heat and range handicap it's a brutal brawling weapon.

Thanks for your feedbacks ! Indeed it is smurfy's default armor value I'm running 16/20/16 as rear armor.
I'll give a try with the extra ssrm2, could be nice

I disagree with those saying less rear armor.. Any Atlas not showing up on sensors gets harassed first by anyone using the long-range PPC/ballistics meta. One unfortunate pinpoint shot in the back from one of those noobs and you lose your AC/20, and that's the only serious weapon you've got. Protect it.
You have little to gain strategically from that build by lowering armor anyway; you'll get maybe one ton back, not enough for any more weapons. If you want to add stuff, you'd probably have to reduce your engine size.

The problem with the large pulses is that they're generating ~15-18% extra heat. It was a known issue when I reported it, though I haven't tested it recently - that's why LPLs tend to underperform, except in very niche builds. Honestly, you'd be better using ER Larges (PPCs are problematic on an Atlas because of how low your arms are.)
As for rear armor, I have (I think) 18 on my CT, and 16 or so on the sides for my Atlas. The numbers change based on performance, if I feel too fragile to incidental damage to the rear, I'll shift a few points back on. You're not going to do any good with a lot of rear armor, and especially with that 350 Standard (engine rating affects twist rate,) you should not have difficulty fighting lights - Atlas pilots who report lights as a major threat to themselves are either referring to wolf packs, or simply don't know how to build a good Atlas. Keep enough armor on your rear to absorb a long-range PPC volley, and keep your arms and front torsos facing the enemy. If you need a lot of back armor for the slowest 'mech in the game, you're doing it wrong. =)

Reading comprehension lesson: We said less than 31 on the back CT, not 0.
