I always read that people say MW:O isnt fully balanced yet and bla bla bla. Obviously you never playerd Mechwarrior 4 in multiplayer.

Tournaments are happening right now with success despite the conditions whether you like it or not. It's already working now and will be working even better once lobbies are in place. Considering this fact, I think the only one wrong here is yourself.

I also think you greatly underestimate what people can do for this community. I can create a serious tournament right now with a cash prize worth thousands if I wanted too, whether you like it or not. People can turn the game into whatever they desire and there is nothing you can do about it. You don't have any ground to stand on when you tell people they shouldn't or its wrong to do player run tournaments.

You absolutely can create whatever community you want to with effort and patience. Yes that is my argument, and no I never once said or implied you cannot, because that is counter to my argument (unless the time and effort cannot be given).

Whether or not people think the game is ready or not is in the eye of the beholder. That's part of the point i'm trying to make here. If people are having fun with the player run tournaments out there who are you to say the game is not ready yet. It's ready enough if the current leagues are successful, which they are. All a matter of perspective, the game doesn't "recognize" anything its the players playing the game.

Turning this thread into an other MWO flame war is not a good way to thank Blue Vengeance for the time, effort, and resources they're spending to hold an event that is supposed to bring the FRR community together.

Ok, I must have missed that when you jumped into our channel, we had an issue of where our main member had a RL event, and out sub for him was having internet issues. We were getting Axevid up to speed and deciding mechs at the last minute. I probably wasn't paying as much attention as I should have. Just to much on my mind.

I'm actually thinking of forming up a tournament using Damon Howe's idea of stock loadouts. :( I'm still reviewing what's been right and wrong in the tournaments and finding ways to work around them. If not for seeing Dane's Yule tourney, this tourney by BV, and the hard work put in by both I wouldn't even consider it.

We had two Yen-lo-wang's that match. I was piloting the one that ran into you in the cave. <_< Thank you for the compliment, but I think your being generous, at the range I was shooting a better pilot would have legged you. I'll remember it next time though.

The second day of the tournament brought new fights and a lot of action. We added a second stream, so we could shorten the waiting times for the teams and still stream every match.
But just as on the first day, on the second we had one Group that went really well, and another group that suffered from missmatches and disconnects.
We even had some technical issues with the second stream channel and lost the replays of the whole group.

But now, better late than never, to the standings after the first weekend of the tournament!

We have 2 teams that are already in the finals. Both of them reached the sweet spot of 4 victories, or 16 points. And nothing can happen that could keep them out. Congratulations for the Dudesclub - Verteidiger des Teppichs and the Isengrim Jarlsguard, both teams have been relentless.

But we have a lot of teams that are still in the race for the finals. And I mean A LOT!
ALL the teams in group one are still in the race, most of them have 3 or even 4 matches to go and nobody is save.

In group two we have 3 teams with equal scores. My own team is one of them and we wil fight the other two on friday, so expect some mean business.

In group 3 the Skjaldborg team of StalaggtIKE holds second place, but the 1st RDR and Beep Boop Pew Pew are on their tail. They both still hold slim chances to reach the finals and they sure are eager to take them.

And in group 4, where we had no less than 2 draws on saturday, scores are still low and we have a lot of matches to come, expect things to move on saturday!


Aye as mind said We must of missed being updated on coms about the point system. We got a little frustrated as our 1st match was a draw as the team we played backed off and we could not find them.

Thanks for the work you and BV have put into this tournament, It must be a nightmare and stressful at times to run. I really like the 235t drop weight to, It made MWO feel more battletech like :( We will try our best in our last two matchs and honor your hard work on the battlefield.

In little over 20 hours we will go in the second week of the Viking Lance Tournament.
On each day of the past weekend we had one qualification group where things went very well and one group where everything took longer than we hoped. So now we have two groups that will be done in only two drops and two groups that will take longer.
Therefore we decided to change our scedule a little bit. We will now do the groups of each day after another.

On friday we will beginn with group two, who we need to be on our TS3 server at the same time as last week. Group one however can come half an hour later.
On saturday we will start with group three at the normal time and group four can come half an hour later.
This will enable us to concentrate on getting the groups through who experienced difficultys on the past weekend. Also it will enable us to start earlier with the double stream coverage.
That means that from saturday on we will stream every match from both sides simulteneously. We still try to get a second streamer for friday. In case we do we could even start on friday.

As the quarterfinals were to be held this weekend, I'd like to know, just to be clear, are they being held after the remaining qualifiers or is the rest being pushed back one week each?

Heads up people!
Since the implementation of UI 2.0 there has been a bug that under certain circumstances it was not possible for some players to restock their consumables.
Because of this we are forced to prohibit the use of airstrikes and artillerystrikes until it is fixed.

I will try that and bring the teams in the TS up to speed what we will do.

Another workaround is to equip non-consumable module, save and then equip your consumables again and save.

It's also said, that it should work with a relog. (didn't test that)

We decided to allow strikes, more on that in the TS.

Yeah, because of the bug I didn't have my arty strike in the first battle this evening. Fortunatelly it didn't matter. After that I learned to circumvent the bug. I haven't played practically at all since UI 2.0 was released so the bug caught me unguard in this tournament :P
